ParticipantI am now also experiencing this issue. When a user tries to login via the WP-simple membership login page they get this message:
———————–
Error! This site has the force WP user login feature enabled in the settings. We could not find a WP user record for the given username: webmaster
This error is triggered when a member account doesn’t have a corresponding WP user account. So the plugin fails to log the user into the WP User system.
Contact the site admin and request them to check your username in the WP Users menu to see what happened with the WP user entry of your account.
The site admin can disable the Force WP User Synchronization feature in the settings to disable this feature and this error will go away.
You can use the back button of your browser to go back to the site.
——————-There appears to be a clash with the following plugin, WP-simple-firewall, also known as Shield Security. When i disable that plugin the error no longer occurs. However, I am unclear which plugin the issue is in. Can you reach out to the developers of this other plugin and find a solution? I have looked through many of the settings in both plugins and can’t see where there could be a conflict. Has previously been working okay – problem appeared to arise only today.
I can’t disable the Force WP User Synchronization feature in the settings as this will mean that the user won’t be logged in as their wordpress account and then won’t have access to the rest of the site’s features/plugins that require wordpress login to be synchronized.
Please help 🙂

ParticipantI have tried manually creating the page so it shows in my pages list. I then tried setting the appropriate membership levels on it but this didn’t restrict the user.

ParticipantI am using wp-foro as the forum.

ParticipantSounds great, will that be prior to making payment?

ParticipantOkay, that’s all a little frustrating. When the plugin says a month and it’s not a month, it is actually 30 days. I understand that is PayPal problem but it is misleading.
I’m not looking for hourly granularity, just monthly, not 30 daily.
With 30 daily, or 31 or 32, my income won’t run monthly. And that’s a reporting issue.
Frustrating. Thanks anyway for everyone’s help and advice.

ParticipantThe document I linked to, and the section I mentioned shows how to set up system so PayPal can be cancelled and membership only cancels when it expires.
This member should have got one month not 30 days.

ParticipantCancel my last comment, I think this is actually a caching issue because it started again with the standard buttons. I’ve set a rule not to cache that page and it seems to have resolved things now.
Sam
ParticipantI used the following shortcode
[swpm_payment_button id=75 button_text=”Pay Now” class=””]
This made the buttons the same as the rest of my theme and is what broke it. I’ve now changed the buttons back to standard (it works again on desktop) and then made both the stripe and paypal the same with a button image.
Sam
ParticipantI think you’ve tried the PayPal button not Stripe.
Sam
ParticipantOkay, I guessed as much. it might be worth updating the documentation to reflect that because it currently just links to the cancelling for paypal subscription.

ParticipantTry this page https://www.jarodd76.club/membership-join/subscribe/
Go to pay with credit/debit card and you will see that when you push the button nothing happens.
Currently using Windows 10, latest version of chrome browser.
Works fine on Pixel C teblet, running latest version of Android and Chrome (mobile)March 14, 2018 at 7:50 pm in reply to: User stuck on registration page with username taking forever to validate #13725Sam
ParticipantOkay, I found this thread https://wordpress.org/support/topic/jqvcustom-error/
It suggests the mail poet plugin is the issue. However, my problem was resolved by removing the mail poet widget that was displayed on the page.
Any chance you could look into what the clash is with the widget and provide an update or solution?

ParticipantGetting some errors:
jqv:custom type not allowed noapostrophe
jqv:custom type not allowed SWPMUsername

ParticipantOkay, back to my manual reconciliation then. Parhaps you could put the net amount through as feedback to PayPal? I’ll leave that with you for consideration. And thanks for all your help. The plugin is doing well and I’m thinking about getting a few addons soon.
