ParticipantIn the payments history page for the administrator, the payments show but not the paypal transaction deductions. Would it be possible to have it show the payments after the deductions so I don’t have to keep going back through my paypal payments and working it out manually? Thanks

I’m trying to understand your request. Please try explaining, by example, what you are looking for.

ParticipantSo let’s say we have members subscribing monthly for $10. The payments page shows they paid $10. But in my paypal I get $10 minus the paypal transaction fee. And it isn’t always the same %. The high the transaction the lower the fee. And can vary depending on from which country the payment comes.
On the payments page it shows what users pay, but I also want to see what I am receiving. The two aren’t the same.

ModeratorPayPal does not pass back to the plugin (via the IPN) what the “net amount” is; only what the “gross amount” is.

ParticipantClearly. That is the problem I have. I’m looking for a solution though. Could the plugin have functionality to know the paypal deduction rules and then apply them to the gross amount so as to be able produce the net?

ModeratorNot really… without endowing the plugin with the ability to automagically log into your PayPal account, and retrieve the information required to match up the transactions. You really do not want that to happen, because you’d have to store your PayPal account login credentials in the WordPress database; and then depend on the security and honesty of your hosting provider, to keep the PayPal account credentials secure.

ParticipantI was thinking, you set your country for the paypal account and then the plugin refers to the paypal fees list for that country. https://www.paypal.com/uk/webapps/mpp/paypal-fees

ModeratorYeah, but that’s really just a guesstimate or approximation. That would only work until you get the first chargeback, e-check, or other “strange animal” fee.

ParticipantOkay, back to my manual reconciliation then. Parhaps you could put the net amount through as feedback to PayPal? I’ll leave that with you for consideration. And thanks for all your help. The plugin is doing well and I’m thinking about getting a few addons soon.
