@michel — Your use of technical terms seems to be incorrect; and something seems to be getting “lost in translation.” What is your primary language?
When the plugin says a month and it’s not a month, it is actually 30 days. I understand that is PayPal problem but it is misleading.
It is a standard business practice, especially in banking, to measure time using a 30 day “business month.” That is why the closing dates for credit cards and bank statements tend to drift by 1 to 3 days. Even Microsoft Excel, via the DAYS360 function, measures a “business year” as twelve, 30 day months.

When a membership is cancelled; the account status goes “Inactive,” and stays in the system.

That’s not possible with SWPM, because PayPal/Stripe has no way to validate the authenticity of the person making the cancellation request. When it is done on their sites, the authenticity comes from the member having to log into PayPal/Stripe. Right now, the next best thing is to provide an instruction page with links to PayPal/Stripe.
I understand that if people cancel their recurring payments in paypal or stripe, of course after the period of the membership expires they’ll be cancelled on the website too.
When a member cancels at PayPal, et al; an IPN is immediately sent to the plugin. Depending upon the plugin settings; the membership can either be immediately cancelled, or allowed to expire.

Since SWPM is an extension of the existing WP user accounts, such a change would mean a person will get different results; depending on if they updated a WP user or an SWPM member profile.
On the Members screen, hover your mouse above the member’s ID number and select the Edit link that appears. You can then change the password on the next screen.
