Please turn on the debug logs, repeat your test, and post the debug log results.

Emails are sent as plain text. There is no HTML email send option supported.

Per this thread, SWPM does not work well with plain permalinks.

The issue is that SWPM is not designed to support more than one membership level per member email address. Changing membership levels simply replaces the previous level.

The solution involves preventing logged in members from purchasing membership levels other than the one they currently have. You would use “Section or Partial Protection” controls to show logged in members only the purchase options that match their current membership level. Technically you have 3 possible content display choices to deal with; Not Logged In, Digital Member, and Print Member. Use the free Partial or Section Protection Addon:
    https://simple-membership-plugin.com/simple-membership-documentation/
In the case of an existing member that is not logged in, SWPM will prevent them from reusing an email address that currently is associated with ANY membership level. Hence they will be forced to login, and be subject to the the section/partial protection rules you created.

Man…a lot of bugs in the plugin.

SWPM has been around for over a decade with hundreds of thousands of installations.

You state that “Sometimes it works, sometimes not…” Software is not intermittent. What hosting provider are you using? Also, which version of SWPM are you using? And did you download it from our site?

Since you seem to be the only site experiencing this issue; let’s see if there is something unusual about your configuration.

    1. Please ensure your site passes all of this checklist:
      https://simple-membership-plugin.com/forums/topic/test-for-plugin-and-theme-conflict-before-posting-an-issue-or-a-bug/

    2. Is this a new or existing site?

    3. Has long has your site always been running on this particular server?

    4. Are there any other issues with respect to the creation of users? In other words, are new members able to sign up by themselves without problems? Are YOU able to manually create new members without problems?

    5. Please check your server logs to see if there are any database errors.

What version of the plugin are you using? And did you download it directly from our site?

I can refer this to the developers, but I believe the capability cannot be easily added. The reason why is that <!–more–> is a tag, while what you are requesting deals with a true WordPress shortcode block. We would need to study the issue more (pun not intended).

I have referred this to the developer. In the meantime, what version of the plugin are you using? Also please check for javascript library conflicts.

SWPM is open source code. You are allowed to make any modifications you want to it.

What specific payment gateway do you want to use?

Please enable the debug logs. If the log says the email was successfully sent; the issue is external to the plugin.

Also, please review this section of the documentation:

Perhaps their PayPal payment method has issues? And what geographic locals are the failed subscribers located?

Is this for ALL members, using the button; or just “some?”

Have you been using these instructions?
