Participanthi, there is no such feature in the plugin.
HOWEVER, there is a way:
you’ll need a paid mailchimp account (a pay as you go plan is just fine) and the SMP Mailchimp plugin.
Everytime a user subscribes to your membership, he is added to a mailchimp list.
Just program an automated email to be sent a few days before their membership renewals. Mailchimp can do that just fine.
Of course, you may need different lists for different membership durations. If you don’t want to pay, you can use Mailpoet and program an autoresponder message to be sent to the list “WordPress users” a few days before renewal. I believe it’s possible although I didn’t try this one.
The downside of this solution is that you can use it only if all your memberships have the same duration.vkspec
ParticipantHave you got some cache plugin in use?
I confirm what mbrsolution said: pages are protected on my end as well…vkspec
ParticipantThat’s interesting.
But, to my knowledge, I’d say that you can’t do it with SMP. Unless you want to duplicate all your pages withoud ad blocks for members.
Might be OK if you’ve got only 1 or 2 pages. Plublic ones will get ads and protected duplicates won’t get any. As for the menu on you site, NavMenu Roles is a great plugin to customize menus depending on membership levels.I’d say that you need a more sophisticated plugin, that allows shortcode protection. A great one is Restrict Content Pro. It’s powerful, well coded, greatly supported and not very expensive.
Another option is to look at WPMUdev.org
I don’t like their plugins but if my memory is correct, they do have plugins to hide ads for logged in members.vkspec
Participanthi,
yes it’s possible:
you can create a free membership in addition to your paid offer.
In order to allow payment only to those who register, just protect the page containing the payment button(an upgrade button, actually).
And redirect free members to this page after they log in.vkspec

After creating a new membership user (through the plugin options panel, not a wordpress user), you’re saying that your admin account is deleted.
Silly question maybe, but:
are you trying your admin credentials through the membership login form?
if that’s the case, it won’t work: the plugin’s members are NOT WordPress members by default.
Therefore, the plugin’s login form is for plugin’s members only.
For admin access, you should use the standard access, usually http://yourwebsite.com/wp-login.phpJanuary 23, 2016 at 5:47 pm in reply to: How to make a user able to use 2 Different Subscriptions in the same time? #4982vkspec

Is SMP related with emember?
Same site design, same “philosophy”, SMP is like a light (read: more simple) version of emember.
Looks strange because neither SMP nor Tips and Tricks HQ seems to mention this anywhere (or maybe I didn’t see it)vkspec

I agree. But I prefer a link with my own theme’s buttons (or linked text, it depends of the context).vkspec
Participanthi,
my bad.
My buttons are actually paypal links (created using paypal’s button creation tool: I chose the email link instead of a graphical button).
Then, right-click + copy link does work.with smp buttons, it’s more complicated as you need to pass additional info to your link.

ParticipantHi,
just create a payment button for each specific membership and embed the shortcodes for each button on a test page.
save the page and visit it.
on each button: right-click and copy the link.
Then use the copied link in your pricing table.
Repeat for each button.
When you’re finished, delete the test page with the buttons, as you won’t need it anymore.vkspec
Participanthi,
your subscription form is the mailchimp form. It’s a regular registration form, separate from your membership system.
did you copy-pasted it completely? normally, when an email is submitted, the user is redirected to a page that says “check your email”.
anyway, whatever your issue is, it doesn’t seem related to the membership plugin.
just try to create another list, for testing purposes, and embed a form on a test page. If it doesn’t work, do it again after disabling other plugins…vkspec
Participanthi,
you can register directly after payment without having to wait for an email:
register immediately after paymentvkspec
ParticipantI guess you can create a free membership (for handling of user registration) and redirect logged in free members to a payment button to your paid membership.

Participanthi,
did you create an Admin access membership? The plugin “import wordpress users” isn’t enough to get admin to see protected content.

Participanthi,
some builders are not SMP friendly.
Thrive content builder is my favourite, but pages designed with it are not protected with SMP (or many other membership plugins: it’s a recurring support question on the thrive themes forum)Actually, many builders create pages that won’t get protected with many membership plugins.

Participanthi,
you certainly have category protection enabled.
go to membership levels and click on “category protection” tab.
uncheck the “ensia” category and click update to disable general protection for category ensia.
Then for each membership in the drop down list, uncheck the “ensia” category and click update.
