I recently started having an issue when manually updating a member’s membership level.
Are you trying to change a membership level for paid or free membership accounts?

ModeratorHi, emails work differently in sandbox mode. I recommend that you carry out a live test for email functionality instead of sandbox mode. Let me know how you go.

ModeratorHi, do you have a cache system running in your server? Did you also cleared your browser cache? Are you using Cloudflare or something similar?
If the above does not help, you might like to try the following steps. These steps were published in wordpres.org forum for a different plugin but it was for the same error message.
1) Deactivate the plugin Simple Membership plugin.
2) Use the WordPress version to request a new password.
3) Follow the instructions to reset and create a new password.
4) Log in with the new password created.
5) Re-enable Simple Membership plugin again.
6) Carry out another test.Let me know how you go.

Check to make sure you have the correct PayPal account. If you have a Personal PayPal account can you upgrade to a Business account.

ModeratorHi, unfortunately Divi and Elementor type plugins or themes don’t play well with our plugin. That is why the developers decided to develop the full page protection addon. There is a section in the addon that allows you to display the header and footer when enabled. The feature is located under Other Settings.

But nothing on how to actually use the code on a Section to hide it.
You simply add the shortcode in any part of a post or page that you want to hide that section. And only allow logged in visitors to view the content.
