ParticipantI love your plugin and use it extensively on my new site.
It works perfectly on most of the site but has one issue I can’t resolve:
I added an Elementor Pro Form Widget on the Photos page for Uploading Images – it should only display when a member is logged in, and be hidden when they are logged out.
My problem is I can’t find a way to wrap your code around the Form Widget, so now it displays all of the time whenever logged in or logged out.
I need to do this:
[swpm_protected visible_to=”logged_in_users_only”]Form Widget[/swpm_protected]I know (or wish) there was a way to add it, but need help figuring it out.
TIA

ModeratorHi, please try the following addon. Let me know if this helps you.

Kind regards.

ParticipantThanks for the response.
I don’t want to hide the whole page – I only want to hide the Elementor Pro Form Widget which is a small part of the page.
I put the Form Widget into a Section – how do I hide just a Section on a Page?
When I looked at the Documentation for it – the code to use is shown but not how to actually hide the section using the code.
I went to:
https://simple-membership-plugin.com/apply-partial-section-protection/And found this:
Partial Protection for Anyone Who is Logged-in
If you want to just protect a section of a post or page for logged-in members (it doesn’t matter if the member’s account status is expired or not) then use the following shortcode:[swpm_protected visible_to=”logged_in_users_only”]
Whatever content goes here is only visible to anyone who is logged-into the SWPM system as a user (doesn’t matter if his account is expired or not).
[/swpm_protected]
But nothing on how to actually use the code on a Section to hide it.

ModeratorHi,
But nothing on how to actually use the code on a Section to hide it.
You simply add the shortcode in any part of a post or page that you want to hide that section. And only allow logged in visitors to view the content.
Kind regards.

ParticipantThat’s not a good explanation – I know that part.
What I can’t figure out is how to actually add the shortcode to a section – the only ones I can add to are text editors – there is no way to add any text to a section that doesn’t have text editor.
I even tried to put a text editor above the section with the first part of the shortcode and one below with the last part of the shortcode but that doesn’t work.
Also tried with a shortcode widget but no luck.
It seems I can’t “simply” add the shortcode to a section.
What am I missing?
If you know how, then please tell me.

ModeratorHi, can you share screen captures so that I can see what you are trying to protect. This will help me much to understand what is going on.
Kind regards.

ParticipantI sent you a screen shot with a .png file and now it’s being held for moderation?

ParticipantI just want to hide one of several sections on my page.
Your documentation says:
If you want to protect/hide a section (or sections) of a post/page then you can do that using the Simple Membership Partial Protection addon. This can be useful to create teaser content where the visitors can see part of a page content for free and the rest of the page is protected.
I just want to know how to physically place the shortcode to hide a section.
Better than a screen capture, go to the actual website page:
https://weisermemories.com/cms/photos/The lower yellow box with the photo upload should not be displayed unless logged in.
It is a section with a column inside and the Elementor Pro Form Widget inside of that.
Here is a screenshot of the yellow box being edited, with it’s section, column and form widget on display:
https://weisermemories.com/images/SectionSnip.pngI can’t find anyway to protect the section or just the Form Widget using your shortcode since it won’t allow me to place the shortcode anywhere that will work.

ModeratorHi, unfortunately Divi and Elementor type plugins or themes don’t play well with our plugin. That is why the developers decided to develop the full page protection addon. There is a section in the addon that allows you to display the header and footer when enabled. The feature is located under Other Settings.

Kind regards.

ParticipantTell the developers that hiding a full page is not the same as hiding a partial page section.
Also, it might be a good thing to update the Documentation since it’s misleading the way it is now.
I did a work around by replacing the Upload Form with a Link to a different page that now has the Upload Form.
I can now hide the Link along with the Comments Form.
Works perfectly.

KeymasterHi, Our partial protection shortcode is just a standard WordPress shortcode and it works fine on WordPress’s Guttenberg block/page editor. If you are using a different page builder on your site, you will need to ask them why the standard shortcode is not working with their editor (when it works fine with WordPress’s editor).
We can only make sure that our plugin works with the Standard WordPress install with standard WordPress editor. We certainly cannot make it work with all external plugins out there. Some of them will conflict unfortunately. You may need to look at using an alternative membership plugin since it is conflicting on your site:
