ModeratorIf you copy the link from the email, and paste it into the browser’s address bar; doe that work?

ModeratorIf you are using a caching plugin, it may not be properly configured:

Absent that, if the user has their browser set to “remember” cookies, then logins persist for a minimum of 3 days:

ModeratorYeah, but that’s really just a guesstimate or approximation. That would only work until you get the first chargeback, e-check, or other “strange animal” fee.

ModeratorTry something like PayPal2018 or donotreply2018 at yourdomain.com and then bump up the year, every 12 months. That’s what I do 😉

ModeratorNot really… without endowing the plugin with the ability to automagically log into your PayPal account, and retrieve the information required to match up the transactions. You really do not want that to happen, because you’d have to store your PayPal account login credentials in the WordPress database; and then depend on the security and honesty of your hosting provider, to keep the PayPal account credentials secure.

ModeratorPayPal does not pass back to the plugin (via the IPN) what the “net amount” is; only what the “gross amount” is.

ModeratorWhen the user clicks on the subscription button they go to the PayPal checkout page. On that page only the business name is shown.
That means you probably have a verified business account. Otherwise, your name and personal email address would also be shown.
However, when the transaction is complete the user gets an email that shows the email address. It is also visible in the user’s PayPal transaction history.
I’m still interested in how to have a user make a payment and not see the PayPal email address of where the payment goes, either on their account or on their receipt.
That is impossible to do. PayPal does not allow “anonymous transactions,” because that would violate the consumer & tax laws of several countries. If the reason is because the email address is also your personal one; you can create & use a “business only” email address with PayPal.

ModeratorIn the payments history page for the administrator, the payments show but not the paypal transaction deductions.
I’m trying to understand your request. Please try explaining, by example, what you are looking for.

ModeratorI really “hate” to knock hosting providers; but I personally consider WordPress.com akin to “training wheels” for folks wanting to see what it’s like to run a WordPress site. I also suspect it’s all that extra software they use to limit the different site tiers, plus server capacity issues, that contributes to the “Error 5xx” problems. Finally, it’s one of the more pricey hosting providers, for what you get.
The Assurer
ModeratorThey do not have to be the same. Please enable debug logs in the plugin, perform a test, and post the logs here.
Also, please ensure the plugin is properly setup to receive PayPal IPN.

And that you have setup PayPal subscription buttons, properly.

ModeratorDid you, and the the member, receive a set or emails directly from PayPal; acknowledging the transaction?
If both of you received your PayPal emails; it might the IPN was not properly configured. Please enable the debug logs; and ensure that IPN have been properly configured:

Moderatorhttps://www.w3.org/Protocols/rfc2616/rfc2616-sec10.html
500 Internal Server Error
The server encountered an unexpected condition which prevented it from fulfilling the request.505 HTTP Version Not Supported
The server does not support, or refuses to support, the HTTP protocol version that was used in the request message. The server is indicating that it is unable or unwilling to complete the request using the same major version as the client…These are not plugin related errors. Where (geographically) are the users located? Which browser and version is being used, when this error occurs?
The Assurer
ModeratorI’m unsure if it’s related, but after logging into wordpress.com, if I then log in to the site (via simple membership login) so that I can see the site content (using any login) I get ‘500 Internal Server Error’ which is only resolved by clearing my browsing history.
That Error 500 is “infrastructure related” and is unrelated to any plugin. Are you able to reliably reproduce THAT error?
The Assurer
ModeratorEnable the debug logging, create a free “Test” membership level; and try signing up for it. The debug logs should contain clues and you should receive emails.

ModeratorThree email addresses are listed, separated by commas.
Just wondering… Does it work if you only have one email address in the box?
