Looks like there is JavaScript error (from another plugin) or conflict on this site. Please do the following test:

Hi Kat, Which email address did you use for the submission? It looks to be different than the one you are using for the forum user profile. Once you tell me the email address you used, I will double check that your submission has been replied to.

If you log into an “administrator” user account, you should still be able to go to the “wp-admin” URL of your site and see the normal admin dashboard. The option you referenced won’t stop an administrator account from going to the wp-admin URL of the site. So you can change the settings menu of the plugin by manually going to the following URL of your site:

    yourdomain.com/wp-admin

Make sure to log out of any non-admin user account and log into an administrator account.

    You can try the following:

    – Go to the “Email Settings” menu of the Simple Membership Plugin.
    – Scroll to the “Registration Complete” email section.
    – Empty out the “Email Body” field and save the settings. When that email body field is empty, it will turn off the notification that is sent after the registration is complete.

The emails from you seem to be bouncing. I got an undelivered email report in our spam box. It bounced with the following error from Gmail. Maybe it’s not 100% relevant but I thought of mentioning it:

Host or domain name not found. Name service error for name=alfonsocapella.com type=MX: Host not found, try again

I sent another email to the address you are using for your forum profile. Lets see if you receive that email.

It looks like you didn’t set a membership level for this member.

So at the moment the member has no membership level. Hence the plugin doesn’t know where to redirect to (since it gives redirection based on the membership level).

You can edit that member’s profile and set a membership level. Then do a test.

I am not sure how you are creating the member because normally when the member account is created using the following registration scenario, there should always be a membership level:
    https://simple-membership-plugin.com/membership-registration-process-overview/

    Hope that helps.

Hi, There seems to be another plugin that is overriding the login redirection. Please do the following plugin conflict test first:
    https://simple-membership-plugin.com/forums/topic/test-for-plugin-and-theme-conflict-before-posting-an-issue-or-a-bug/

Or the member is missing a membership level.

May 18, 2022 at 5:03 am in reply to: Stripe failed event extending membership 1 year #23925

Thank you. When you select the “customer” and “charge” category from the event selection dropdown menu, Stripe will add all the sub-events under that category so that’s fine. Your current webhook event setup looks fine to me.

    The following should happen:

If a member’s account has already used up the 1 year time and a new successful payment hasn’t been received from the subscription already, the plugin will deactivate/expire that account. Allow for 24 to 48 hours to make sure the cronjob had a chance to deactivate the account (the cronjob that checks and deactivates accounts runs every 24 hours). If that is not happening, the log file will be helpful to get clues as to what other things need to be checked.

May 17, 2022 at 12:33 pm in reply to: Stripe "charge.failed" event not processed #23921
    admin
    Keymaster

This was never an issue in the plugin. It doesn’t need to process a failed charge event for a normal setup since it has other mechanism to deal with that.

Normally, the plugin waits for a SUCCESS charge. Only then it will extend the duration by updating the start date. If a successful charge is not received in time, then the profile gets set to “inactive”. It doesn’t matter if “charge is failed” because they won’t get the additional time until a successful payment is received. When Stripe determines that the subscription has permanently failed, they will send a SEPARATE event which our plugin will handle and deactivate the user. So if you ask about the “failed” charge event, it won’t make any sense in the context of how our plugin works.

We want to process/handle a minimum number of webhooks to make sure it isn’t trying to process a high load of webhooks which will slow the site down. Stripe recommends processing the least number of webhooks.

This is most likely going to be a setup related issue with the webhook in the Stripe account. Lets try to narrow it down.

#1) First, please confirm that you are using the following option to create your Stripe subscription button.
    https://simple-membership-plugin.com/sca-compliant-stripe-subscription-button/

Some users still try to use the old stripe button option which Stripe has deprecated and it can have unexpected behavior so it’s best to eliminate that possibility.

#2) In your Stripe webhook, are you only selecting the following “events” as per the documentation or have you selected all events?

    – Customer
    – Charge
    – invoice.paid

It’s important to no select all events because that will confuse the plugin.

#3) It doesn’t need to process a failed charge event since it has other mechanism to deal with that. You have to use the plugin the way we have designed it otherwise it won’t make sense.

When Stripe determines that the subscription has permanently failed (after charge attempts fail a few times), they will send a SEPARATE event which our plugin will handle and deactivate the user account. So if you keep asking about the “failed” charge event, it won’t make any sense in the context of how our plugin works.

We want to process/handle a minimum number of webhooks to make sure it isn’t trying to process a high load of webhooks which will slow the site down. Stripe recommends processing the least number of webhooks.

#4) In the membership level’s configuration, are you specifying a duration value (example: 1 year)?

#5) Do you have the debug option enabled? If not, please enable it. When this even occurs the debug log file will contain useful information that will be helpful to narrow things down.

@magnush, I don’t see anything in the inbox from your email address. So this is likely a case of things going to spam box so we missed it or the transaction email you entered in the form had a typo so the purchase verification failed. Please note that for the paid addons, it’s important to use the email address that you used for the purchase. Otherwise, our system can’t recognize it.

Can you please submit the form now and reply here so I can look it up and investigate what is happening on your site:

You can delete the user account from the admin interface, then create a new profile with the desired username.
