  • May 16, 2025 at 4:42 am in reply to: Upgrading sub results in duplicate stripe subscription #30412
    admin
    Keymaster

Just adding some additional context to this post. All the Stripe subscription cancellation options are explained in the following documentation:
    https://simple-membership-plugin.com/how-can-i-cancel-a-stripe-subscription-as-a-merchant/

If you’re looking to allow users to cancel their own subscriptions, this guide may be helpful:
    https://simple-membership-plugin.com/show-active-subscriptions-and-providing-a-cancellation-option/

It sounds like you’re looking for a system that can automatically calculate pro-rated adjustments—such as changes in amount or billing duration—and apply those dynamically. Our plugin doesn’t support that level of subscription management, as it uses a simpler structure where each subscription is treated as a standalone entity.

Depending on your project’s current requirements, you may need to consider a different plugin that offers advanced subscription proration.

We have the following hook which is triggered by the Form Builder addon after the registration form is submitted. Take a look at this:

May 15, 2025 at 4:35 am in reply to: Any way to automatically delete accounts that have status “activation needed”? #30403
    admin

Thank you. Just adding more info to this. We have the following feature for manually bulk deleting accounts by ‘account status’ which might be helpful.

Go to the Members → Bulk Operation menu, then scroll down to the section titled Bulk Delete Member Accounts By Status. From there, select Activation Required as the account status and click the Delete button. This will remove all accounts currently marked with the “Activation Required” status.

The query parameters may be getting stripped by a security or firewall plugin on your site. It’s worth checking if that’s the case. Enable the debug log feature to view the full list of parameters received by the API addon on the server side.

Note: The request should be sent to your site’s homepage URL. The examples folder included in the addon contains sample code you can test with. Start with the basic example to verify it’s working, then build on it as needed.

In the template, you can add a condition to check the membership level ID of a given member.

    For example:

    $level_id = SwpmMemberUtils::get_membership_level_id_of_a_member($member_id);

You can then use this value to display a checkmark (or other output) based on the member’s level.

The following page has some code example that might be helpful:

May 10, 2025 at 3:41 am in reply to: Adding protection to a post created programmatically #30371

We will try to add a new function for this that can be used to apply protection to a post programmatically.

Adding to this topic, we now also have the following integration that can be used to protect media files:

You can also review the save_postdata function, which handles saving the protection data, to understand how our plugin processes post or page updates. This can serve as a reference if you wish to create your own function for applying protection settings when programmatically creating posts.

The following tutorial may be helpful. It shows you how to create a new WordPress admin user account, which you can then use to reset the original user’s password or adjust their role as needed.

If you enable the debug logging feature, do you see the following line in the log file?

[Cloudflare Turnstile Addon] Turnstile captcha validated successfully!

    https://simple-membership-plugin.com/enable-debug-logging/

It’s worth double checking the documentation and ensure that the correct keys have been pasted into the correct fields:
    https://simple-membership-plugin.com/simple-membership-and-cloudflare-turnstile-integration-addon/

If you are still seeing the same issue, it might be a plugin conflict. Do the following test also:
    https://simple-membership-plugin.com/forums/topic/test-for-plugin-and-theme-conflict-before-posting-an-issue-or-a-bug/

Note: I have just tested the Turnstile addon on my site to make sure that it is working with the latest version of our plugin and WordPress

You must be using the LATEST version of the Simple Membership plugin. Go to the plugins menu of your admin dashboard and check if there is an update available there. If yes, update the plugin then try the login.

You can ask the member to attempt logging into the site. If their account still needs activation, they’ll be shown an option to “Re-send” the activation email.

We also have a feature request on our wishlist to allow site admins to manually resend the activation email to a member.

April 29, 2025 at 4:06 am in reply to: Inconsistent Email Formatting and Merge Tag Failures #30317
    admin
    Keymaster

Thank you. I copied and pasted the email text you provided and performed a test registration. The email formatting looks fine on my end. Here’s a screenshot showing what I received in the inbox:

    https://simple-membership-plugin.com/wp-content/uploads/temp/member-registration-email-test-sc.jpg

If you are seeing all the text in one line then something on your site/server environment is affecting it. Your hosting provider might be able to help with that.

The most likely cause is page caching. Check this documentation:

April 26, 2025 at 4:44 am in reply to: Inconsistent Email Formatting and Merge Tag Failures #30300
    admin
    Keymaster

The following formatting issue is likely caused by an external factor (otherwise, we would see the same issue on my install and on other users’ sites as well). However, I want to replicate your exact setup on my site and run a test to confirm.

The email sent by Email Settings (Registration Complete) fills in the merge tags correctly, but does not format with line breaks. It shows up all as one big paragraph.

Can you please copy and paste the content of your Registration Complete email body here? I will configure the same text on my site and run a test to determine whether the formatting issue is coming from the site’s environment or from the plugin itself.

Note: Re-save the email content while no other plugins are active to ensure it is saved without any external formatting interference.
