ModeratorYou need to turn on the debug logs. Without the debug logs, we do not know what is really happening.
Without the logs, we cannot determine the conditions under which some accounts get downgraded.

ModeratorEach membership must have a unique email address. This is a requirement, not only for SWPM, but for any payment gateways that are used; to pay for subscriptions.
With that said, there are ways to “fool” both SWPM and the payment gateways into sending emails to the same Gmail inbox.
- myfamily@gmail.com
- my.family@gmail.com
- myfamily+husband@gmail.com
- myfamily+wife@gmail.com
- my.family+son@gmail.com
- my.family+daughter@gmail.com
All of these refer to the same Gmail inbox, but are accepted as unique email addresses by both SWPM and the payment gateways.

ModeratorWe have investigated this on our end but couldn’t find any consistent pattern, leading us to believe it may be an issue with Simple Membership. Could you provide any insight into the possible cause?
Unlike hardware, software is not intermittent. Please enable the debug logs; and the next time it happens, examine the logs for clues.
Also, ensure this feature is not turned on:

ModeratorYes. When a PayPal subscription is successfully paid for, an IPN message is sent to SWPM; that not only automagically creates the membership account, but also links it to the PayPal subscription. Also, whenever an IPN message is processed, it should register in the debug logs. No IPN message, no automagic account creation.

ModeratorPlease turn on the debug logs. Without debug logs, we are only guessing. Also, there is no mechanism to link a manually created membership to a PayPal subscription.
You should also review the PayPal subscription button setup documentation, and ensure that you have enabled the IPN.

ModeratorAs previously discussed, the plugin is browser agnostic. Any situations are caused by site caching, or browser settings. I have been using Chrome for eons, without issue.

ModeratorBoth WordPress and SWPM are unable to properly parse “AND/OR” conditions in shortcodes.

ModeratorPlease read the cache compatibility section, and see if Cloudflare can accommodate our caching requirements.

ModeratorPlease post an example of what codes you are using, and how you are using the do_not_show_expired_msg option.

ModeratorYou cannot combine more than one condition is the same shortcode. SWPM (and WordPress) only allows single condition IF/THEN blocks. This is a hard restriction.

Moderator5. What’s even more strange, approximately 20 minutes after midnight overnight, the files:
/wp-content/languages/plugins/simple-membership-plugin-pl_PL.po
/wp-content/languages/plugins/simple-membership-plugin-pl_PL.mo
are overwritten by the plugin’s original files. That is not being done by the plugin. You should resolve this with your hosting provider first; as it may impact the final solution.

ModeratorThat capability does not exist yet.

ModeratorHave you tried going to the “activation required” tab in the members menu and bulk deleting the unactivated profiles?
