I made a new test now, to be more sure.

If I am a logged user that want to comment in a content that is not in his membership level, I can do it. the plugin makes it possible, but the comment becomes not visible for the members level of the user that has added it.

If I add a comment to a post where the More Tag is not added, the comment box is visible, but its content is visible only for the member level.

if I add a comment to a post where the More Tag is added, the comment box is visible, it’s content is not visible for user not in the members restriction of the post, BUT in the comment box I see the text of the post that precede the More Tag applied.

Hi, everything is set, categories are enabled, I made tests for may weeks and everything works properly.

The content is not visible for people not logged or for people not in the specific membership.

but anyway the post or page is loaded from any user (at least any logged user), just the text inside the page is not visible to people that are not in the member level.

The comment works in the same way.

But just the use of the More Tag makes that particular thing.

Of course when I make a post, I don’t care to set manually the restriction for that specific content because it is in a category managed by the plugin, then I see that restriction are applied automatically.

excluding the problem documented in this thread.
I made the FIRST test using the Real Paypal Account. Everything worked properly, Mailchimp included in this way.

what happens is the same things that happened in the other cases. The log reports nothing:

I am sorry there is a misunderstanding here. the IPN arrives properly IF I PAY for the subscription.

If I add the user manually (no one pay for it), there is NO LOGS for MailChimp.
There are just the log to indicate that a confirmation email is sent to the new user and another one to report to the admin (enabled in the setting page).

Everything is set properly on my real paypal. but i have still not started to use it. I am waiting to test it.
I am not using anymore the sandbox paypal account.

What I can say is that using the sandbox it worked.

Now I added a user manually from the admin interface… then no registration form to fill after a payment.

In practice, I am not paying to add a test user, I add it from the admin interface but it is not sent to mailchimp.

The add on is configured properly.
Before to use it I made a test registering a new member via sandbox paypal and it worked very well.

Now adding the user manually… it doesn’t send the user to maichimp.

I have still to test the registration of a user using the real paypal account.

Hi , you can use the plugin “Nav Menu Roles” for this purpose. it use the wordpress user roles connected with the member roles. It works very well.

But there is a problem that can affect also the menu. If you have a member and he changes his subscription or you change it manually, simple membership plugin has some problem to change directly the wordpress role, some times it can fail.

So it necessary to keep the situation under eyes.

There is also a plugin the Simple Membership Menu, that someone has developed indipendently from the simply member official plugins, that make the same thing but using just the member roles and not the wordpress roles. Unfortunately I tested it just today, but it returns warnings. Try it.

Unfortunately I have to say that I still have this problem in a new and clean installation. I installed wordpress 3 times.

I don’t know what happens. Maybe the last release of the plugin has some conflicts ?

I deactivated and disinstalled the plugin.
later I dropped the Plugin Tables from the DB manually because the disinstallation didn’t remove them.
Installed again the plugin.

No more Warnings, saving the Settings Tabs.

An example to manage one the problems mentioned could be.

– I make a button.
– The user subscribes.
– if the user is subscribed the user cannot use that button anymore, then he cannot activate again a new recurrent payment for the same member level.

– if the user is subscribed, the same button now could manage the cancellation of the recurring payment that is active.

The other main problem to manage is:
– If a member want to subscribe to another plan. the system should not make it possible, if the user doesn’t stop the recurring payment already active before to proceed.

– OR the button should stop the previous recurring payment for any member subscription, and start the new recurring payment for the subscription.

I am referring about the IPNs that the paypal account send to the website.

If there are several recurring payments for the same member, paypal sends IPNs to the website for any things happen about these recurring payments, for the activation of the new recurring payments, the cancellation, the charging in any cycle.

if the member has already a recurring payment active, then it has a member plan. The system lets him make a new subscription, then paypal lets him activate a new recurring payment, without cancel the previous one.

This means that the member will have more recurring payments for the same of different membership plans.

What is the behavior of the plugin when at the end of cycle of any recurring payment active, paypal sends the IPN?

If there are recurring payments for 2 different subscriptions, they will send 2 IPN to the website. What I have seen now is that there is an impact to the changing of the WordPress User Role, where you have a level active but the user role is not changed and it is the one of the other member plan, related at the other recurring payment.

The plugin allows to have only 1 subscription per email. This is ok.

But the plugin is not able to stop the user to subscribe again for the same subscription plan while it is already active and in the same way it lets make a subscription for other member levels without stop the recurring payment for the subscription that was already active.

Only 1 signup per email address. Ok! This is good.

Strangely, using the sandbox for testing, the user can signup in any case, for the same plan and for any plan. On paypal in the recurring payment is active, paypal actives also the others subscriptions.

The user can have only 1 subscription per email, but paypal can give multi recurrent payments and their IPN have an impact to the membership subscription.

For example the problem with the User Role that I mentioned.
