    Hi,
I have another thing to show you.

When I use the shortcode to hide a text. I see that in the HTML code, the shortcode add

    <br>.

This causes a white row, not necessary and not required, on the page, for those users who have the text hidden.

Can you manage it for the future releases?

    Kind regards

    Hi,
I checked all the documentation related to it.

I already use the More tag to limit the visibility of a content to only members.

But above the more tag, I publish a partial content that has to be visible ONLY to Expired and Inactive members.

The shortcode with “visible_to” work only for expired OR only for Inactive members.

This forces me to set all the users that are not more members to expired or inactive.

The shortcode doesn’t manage both the status.

Will be this managed in future? 🙂

    Hi,
members that register using simple membership plugin are added to a role that you specify in the configuration of the Membership Level.

Every Membership Level should be added to a WP Role.

So if you have only one Membership Level this is configured to use the standard WP Role.

if you want to have different menu items for different user roles you must create another User Role (for example duplicating the standard role).

In this way, WordPress have 2 User Roles and you can use one with a Membership Level or have 2 Membership Levels one per each WP User Role.

In this way, Nav Menu Bar makes you set the visibility of Items for User Role and this will work with the Membership levels.

To manage the roles you can use also the plugin “User Role Editor”: https://wordpress.org/plugins/user-role-editor/

    It works very well.

In my websites there are 3 Membership Levels and they work with 3 different WP User Roles. So 1 Menu with different menus items. The menu items have the visibility set per user role.

    Kind regards

    Hi,
the MailChimp Addon that I have for now has the version 1.5.

I have seen that the new member was joined to the mailchip list and I didn’t get the confirmation email for the mailchimp subscription, this time.

Maybe it works now. I will see going forward with the next new members.

    Thank you for your support.

    Kind regards

    Hi,
I am really sorry, but unfortunately, It is not so. Mailchimp doesn’t let change the double opt-in by lists settings or profile settings.

    Indeed, MailChimp specifies this:

    “Single opt-in signup forms
Create your own single opt-in signup form with an integration. Certain integrations like Wufoo and List Subscribe for WordPress will let you switch to single opt-in.”

If the other MailChimp plugins can do it, you should consider to do it too also because if a user has Paid to join in a service, it is obvious that he will have and he will want to join to the list without the need of the double opt-in. In my experience, the double opt-in in this contest is enough problematic.

“Mailchimp for WP” works really well in this.

What happens when Double Out-In is disabled?!

User can subscribe. But, the APIs don’t let a user which has unsubscribed before to subscribe again via integration service, then using a plugin. But for all the other things it works very well and it can be done.

This is all I know about this thing and all the plugin that use for mailchip have the option to disable the double opt-in.

So kindly, check how it is done and soon as it is possible please add this feature to the plugin addon.

    Kind regards

    Hi,
unfortunately, this is not something to discuss with mailchip.

Every plugin that uses mailchimp gives the option to disable the Double Opt-in.

I use “Mailchimp for WP” plugin and this feature is available and I use it very well.

I use also the external service “MailMunch” and this feature is available too.

It is something that should be included in the Mailchimp addon for Simple Membership Plugin.

I don’t know how it is done, but it is an available service.

    What do you think?

    kind regards

    Hi. Don’t use it.
It is not an official tool provided with Simple membership plugin.

I removed it many months ago.

Use another plugin to manage the menu like “Nav Menu Roles”. It works really well.

Simple Membership Plugin works with the WordPress User Roles. So, if you manage the menu and any other thing for per user role, everything will work very well.

    HI,
waiting for a concrete solution to get the plugin able to protect also the buddypress pages, I have thought to create a specific wordpress users role that avoid to show in the menu bar of the website the link to open the Buddypress Active or Group Page.

I can set it to every inactive or expired user.

In this way, the user who stopped to pay, will be able to make the login and watch the pages protected by the plugin reaching them by the manu bar, but he will not be able to reach easily the buddypress pages.

The only way for him to reach the buddypress pages could be by the search box (maybe) and having memory of the url of the page.

But really, it is necessary that the plugin could substitute some buddypress files so to add the protection also on the buddypress stream, just like other plugins already do, for example the rtmedia plugin that give a way to upload images in buddypress post. The plugin, when active, just substitute some buddypress files with its files.

    This is an important thing.

In my website, people pay to get the access, but when their account turns to inactive or expired they can still login and use the Community.

Ok I can justify telling that if you paid 1 time you get the access to the community forever. But this is a very bad thing and there is no real way to manage this if you decide to don’t block the login to the user in some way.

Buddypress should be really managed by the Simple Membership Plugin.

    Please work on it.

    Kind regards

    Hi,
    the situation is this.

I have set the 3 months duration for that Membership Level, because in this way the user is able to have under eyes the Expiration Date of his Subscription. So when the expiring date is coming he can refund his PayPal Account and Continue with the Recurring Payment.

With the features that the Plugin Offers today, this thing gives also another advantage:

    – when the user stops the recurring payment (and many times I see people who use to stop it just after a few moments since the registration), I can turn the user to Active and let it use the 3 months that he has paid and at the expiration date his account will be turned to inactive automatically.

In practice the main reason why I have the recurring payment + Membership Levels that expire is that the user is able to SEE the Expiration Date.

What is not good is that the service makes expire the subscription on the Day (maybe at midnight). but not on the TIME where the previous payment was done.

A fixing on this thing will make able to use Expiration Date with Recurring Payments in a very good way. Because a user that is going to renew his subscription never will experience to see his account Expired, although it can be only for just a few hours.

    Kind regards

    Hi,
I made the changes in the DB manually, duplicating the contents in the records of the columns

    – page_list
    – post_list
    – category_list

    in the table

    – wp_swpm_membership_tbl

after the creation of the new Membership Levels.

It works properly and I see that the publishing of new contents updated the records in this table without problems.

But a feature to make this using an interface of the website is really better that manage directly the records of the Data Base.

Is it enough if I change the records in this table to add contents to protect?

    wp_swpm_membership_tbl

is it the only one thing to manage or there are other tables/indexes to change?

    Hi,
kindly can I have an indication about what to check in the DB to make a query that could make me change the Protection on the Contents published?

It is a craziness and a frustration make this changing manually one by one, content by content.

Please, I can make the query by myself, but I need support to understand what to change in the DB.

    Kind regards
