MailChimp – User added manually is not subscribed to MailChimp List

Hi,
I am experiencing that a user added manually to a not free Level is not sent to the mailchimp list.

The log doesn’t show any request to Maichimp.

is it normal?

The add on is configured properly.
Before to use it I made a test registering a new member via sandbox paypal and it worked very well.

Now adding the user manually… it doesn’t send the user to maichimp.

I have still to test the registration of a user using the real paypal account.

Are you still testing in sandbox mode? Can you enable debug mode and check the log file after you carry out a test. If you are going to test PayPal make sure you have your PayPal IPN set up.

Everything is set properly on my real paypal. but i have still not started to use it. I am waiting to test it.
I am not using anymore the sandbox paypal account.

What I can say is that using the sandbox it worked.

Now I added a user manually from the admin interface… then no registration form to fill after a payment.

In practice, I am not paying to add a test user, I add it from the admin interface but it is not sent to mailchimp.

I am sorry there is a misunderstanding here. the IPN arrives properly IF I PAY for the subscription.

If I add the user manually (no one pay for it), there is NO LOGS for MailChimp.
There are just the log to indicate that a confirmation email is sent to the new user and another one to report to the admin (enabled in the setting page).

What happens if you add a user to a free level membership? Will the user be added to the MailChimp list?

Hi,
excluding the problem documented in this thread.
I made the FIRST test using the Real Paypal Account. Everything worked properly, Mailchimp included in this way.

Hi, are you saying that it is working correctly after your live test?

No! … I am saying that IF the user make the subscription, then pay, and make the registration, the plugin send the user data to MailChimp.

If the administration, add a member by himself to any member level available, the plugin send only the confirmation email for the registration of the new user and the notification email to the admin (feature enabled) and it don’t send the user data to MailChimp.

Okay I understand now. When adding a new user manually by the admin panel are you also adding the user to the MailChimp list?

This is intended behavior of the plugin at the moment. The list signup action is ONLY performed when the user is registering (so the user is taking the action). Some autoresponder’s terms dictate that the user must be taking the action for a valid signup. So when you manually add a user from the backend (it bypasses the autoresponder signup process).
