OH and just for the record – I was never able to get the emails to send – and no they were not going to SPAM just never sent, :0( And when they were redirected to the registration it would have the email in there but would not allow them to setup a username and password for that email address. This caused a huge problem, :0(

1. when someone registers they are able to make their payment and when they do so, PayPal sends their name and email address back to the site telling the site to store the email address and name, however NO username or password has been chosen so they are redirected to complete their registration (which emails are NOT being sent out for)
2. When they try to choose a username and password they are then told the email address is taken, preventing them from using it to setup username and password, and if they choose to use a different email then they no longer have access to paid content.
Therefore, in my case the work I have done setting this up has been in vain because the whole purpose was for the users to be able to pay and have access without my client having to add username and passwords.
It is a bit frustrating because I thought this plugin was going to work and now I find it has these issues and since I am not the only one having the same problem there must be an error in the coding.
Do you have any other suggestions for fixing this?

PamI have used that and the email still does not go that is why I was wondering if there is some other email setting I haven’t setup within the WP?
PamYes I am running version 3.1.2 and the only addon is the simple membership form shortcut which is version 1.1
this is happening when they go directly to the pay pal button and then the site redirects them to the registration page and they cannot complete it using the same email address they used to pay.
when they are redirected back to the registration page the form tells them the email address is already taken…..
No the email is NOT going to SPAM it never arrives, :0( I have tried myself.

PamAnother thing this log says that the Member signup/upgrade completion email successfully sent to: EMAIL ADDRESS however they are not receiving the email.

PamOK according to the debug log everything was successful….my only problem now seems to be that since PayPal is providing the email address for my members to the WP Membership plugin, when they try to complete the registration it won’t let them choose a username and password because their email address is already in the database.
Any ideas how I can fix this or a way to get around it?

My members are not receiving the email in step 7 as suggested below:
7. The member will receive an email that contains a “special” link to complete the registration.
Any suggestions for getting this to work?

Pamok another member signup this morning after the IPN was setup in Pay Pal is there something more I need to do with that within the Word Press itself? Or another setting I may be missing?
The word press has the payments listed and has them listed as members but no username and password so they are unable to login….any suggestions?
