For the benefit of anyone searching on this issue, I was glad to get a reply from Admin which turned out to be very simple: to replace my version of Form Builder with the latest one.

Thank you very much for your reply.
Unfortunately I don’t know how to use the information you link to. I DO know how to use scripts others give me to then insert into my child’s theme’s functions.php. I might be able to do other things if given step-by-step guidance.

So could you tell me if it is indeed possible to set the Reply-To email of my choice, and if so, could you give me more of an idiot’s guide?
    Many thanks
    Eva

    Not quite.
I’d like to be able to specifiy my “Reply-to” address so that it will be different from my “From” address.

This is because, as your HELP topic says, if I use a gmail address in the “From” field, it tends to go into my customers’ spam. So I set up another email address for to send FROM, using SMTP provider WP Mail SMTP and SendInBlue.

But if my customers then click to reply, I need the “Reply-to” email to be my gmail address, otherwise I won’t receive it.

As this could be done with Woocommerce by adding some code to functions.php, I was hoping it could also be done with Simple Membership.

Big thanks for any help you can give me.

    I solved the issue by:
    a) using plugin WP Mail SMTP

    b) using Sendinblue and following WP Mail SMTP’s instructions to set up Sendinblue (I don’t understand all this stuff so I needed an idiot’s guide: https://wpmailsmtp.com/docs/how-to-set-up-the-sendinblue-mailer-in-wp-mail-smtp/

    c) creating a subdomain with my web hoster, for these Sendinblue emails, as recommended in the above link.

I also had to make sure that in the Form Builder add-on for this plugin, in the registration form, I did NOT tick to send a notification, as this prevented the sending of the notification I’d set up in the plugin’s settings>Email settings> “Registration Complete”

(And I made sure that WP Membership plugin Settings>Email Settings>Admin Email Address was a gmail address I know I receive emails from, as I’m not yet sure how to receive emails from the new address I set up with Sendinblue. Ignore this bit if you know better)

With all that, many hours later, it’s all working.
My issue initially was that only one of the emails was getting delivered to customers, and none to myself. It happened after I changed webhoster. I THINK it’s something to do with my email address being considered spam (before it even reached people’s spam boxes) and I THINK that’s why the issue was eventually solved by the Sendinblue and subdomain and WP Mail SMTP combination. Phew!
    Hope that helps someone.

    Thank you for your response.

    Yes I have Form Builder.
I don’t have any free membership. I use only one (paying) membership level ID 2.
(People may get access to it for free using a coupon in Woocommerce and that’s how I’m testing it. Does that make a difference?)

So in WP Membership -> Settings -> General Settings I have left “Enable free membership” unticked, and “Free membership level ID” shows 0

    Is that a mistake?

So far my registration and profile forms with Form Builder were for “All levels”. I’ve changed it to just the one level I use, but it has made no difference.

I have another (maybe related?) issue, which worries me a lot more: only some confirmation emails to clients are getting through to them. So the invitation to register (with a link) gets through, but after that, confirmation to them and to me, that they have registered, has stopped coming through since I changed web hoster. I tried to fix it by using Sendinblue SMTP service, but no success.

I’d be really grateful for some help.
    Thank you,
    Eva

Thanks so much, I wasn’t aware of that.
Yes it is working. Though the same ““Error! Invalid membership level ID! This membership level does not exist. You may have deleted this level. Check the membership level ID and correct it.” message comes up when I test across devices or delete cookies.

So if a user registered once via their computer, and then got confused (it happens quite a lot) and clicked the email link again from their phone for example, they’d get that ugly error message. I wonder if you can address that in your next update?

Thanks for helping me — it’s a lot better already.

Hello, please could you have a look at what is wrong, if you say that message should never be seen by users?
I continue to have users emailing me because they see this strange message coming up.

Just to remind you, it’s happening when people click on the registration link without realising they’re already registered.

    Thank you

Thank you for helping me with this.
Users are trying to sign up for ONE membership level. I have only set up one level, which users buy access to using WooCommerce.
I’m not deleting any membership levels.
I believe the error message occurs when users get confused and click on the membership registration after they’ve already registered.

I’m not sure how to include screenshots here so I’ve put them on a google doc here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1NAOn5rTIjgflnWywHwa1u9DGTkCYdhgK8Mwugv6ueec/edit?usp=sharing

    Thank you!
