ParticipantThank you. Now installed.

ParticipantHaving corrected the setup for WP roles and tested it then if a user changes their custom fields etc. then the WP role defaults correctly. However, the BBPress role is still lost.
And yes, we have a lot of other plugins!

ParticipantIt seems we had overlooked setting “Author” as being the default for one membership type so have now done that which will hopefully fix one issue.
Thank you. Though that does mean we cannot have different types of WP role within a single member category.
However, I assume this will not fix the other one which is that the role for BBPress of “Participant” will not be preserved if a member edits their custom fields despite us ticking BBPress Integration in SWPM Settings?bobgarrett
ParticipantThank you for the explanation but surely the plugin should do this itself?
Also, what if the user was an Admin, would they lose their rights and thus be unable to manage the site at all.bobgarrett
ParticipantYes, the newly updated version fixed the problem.

ParticipantI have version 2.9.6 installed showing this error. Is that not the latest release?

ParticipantBut would it be better if the 14 day expiry time extended each time the user visited the site?

ParticipantWhere do I do this? In the plugin Setting?

ParticipantI implemented wp-fastest-cache a few days ago and did the configurations documented.
All seemed okay until I got locked out myself today! I was only able to get back in after closing my browser and then re-opening it. Does that mean anything?bobgarrett
ParticipantThank you for the response. There are no caching plugins but I suspect caching is on the server as a browser cache checker indicates one is present and WP-ServerInfo shows “memcached 1.4.33”. If this is the problem is there a solution?

ParticipantJust looking into this further and I found he last logged in 14 days previously – he has been in and out since but since he says he clicked “remember me” I assume he did not need to log in again.
So could there be some period just after the 14 days expires (the timing he tried to get in was exactly 14 days and 20 mins after logging in) where a user cannot get in again?bobgarrett
ParticipantStupid me, I can! Sorry.

ParticipantI am using this same technique to change the page from a long list of fields into two columns. However, it would be nice to be able to hide the Username in the second column.
Is this possible?bobgarrett
ParticipantI also now see that only Admin has a link for each name in a bbPress thread. For “normal” users they just see the name. Is this the expected behaviour?
bobgarrett
ParticipantNo caching plugins.
