    Hi Pastella!

Yes I did that right in the beginning before posting my first message above.

Then I went to RJ’s Steakhouse for a few hours, socialized with friends, came back.

And noticed its now working fine!

So I guess it just took time for it to “take”.

Thanks for your message, though, I really appreciate you taking the time to let me know it worked for you.

    Have an awesome day

    Hi!

I have this problem as per subject line of the thread.

Emails say from WordPress <my email address> and not from webite name.

I have done the steps as per this documentation, and tested it by signing up a test member and no changes.

Does this take time to effect?

    What else can you recommend?

    Thanks!

Oh thanks, I didn’t realise I had this issue opened in two threads.

    Yes that worked perfectly.

    Thanks so much!!

Thank you so much for that suggestion! I had no idea about core emails so you are actually educating me!

And the plugin you recommended worked just fine.

    Have an awesome weekend.

Great, glad it wasn’t some important thing.

Thanks for getting back to me with that explanation.

Yes I did notice that, and I appreciate that feature; I think its great and I can’t do without it now that you hilighted it to me!

But I also now use that Notify Email feature to send other notices to members, like when they have asked us to manually change some data for them. and then I have a template that I send to notify them of the changes.

So right now I have to copy and paste from a txt file my templates messages for the different messages when Notify user feature is used.

It’s ok while our business is only signing up a few day, but what happens when 200 members a day signs up, it will become a problem I think.

I love your script, its so easy to use. Thank you for supplying the free plugins, it gives us time to test it and find out about your amazing support.

    Have a fabulous New Year!

That’s very interesting, thank you for testing! What browser did you use?

I’ve only tested on Firefox and Google Chrome, which are both up to date and I am able to reproduce the problem each time.

    My actions are:

    1. Create account
    2. Login
    3. Logout
    4. Login
    5. Logout
    6. Login – error
    7. From this point onwards, always error if log out / login.

Sometimes it happens on No 4 though.

So far only 2 people reported the same problem, and it was necessary for me to give them a direct link to the member home page, because on that error page, they can’t see the member menu.

However, when I clear the browser cache it works fine, but again, only for the above number of steps.

I reproduce that on two different computers with Firefox and Google Chrome, Windows 32Bit.

    Its a puzzle.

Thank you! That solution will do very well for now. I’m very grateful that you took the time to let me know about that.

And I hope you will still consider having a permanent email template for changing membership status manually.

    All the best!

Thanks, I appreciate all your help with this.

But I am sure you agree that is not the ideal solution for a member to have to manually clear cache every time theylog out – since you said that is how the plugin operates.

I think you need to really consider about how to fix that in future, since there are many other websites one logs in and out and the logout actually works without having to clear browser cache.

It’s just too cumbersome, many members will be irritated having to do that all the time on our website. I know I would be irritated.

I will create a work around by having to expose the membership protected page links on the menu, but that is really not the ideal situation.

I hope one day you can update your plugin to fix this 😉

All the best and thanks again for your fabulous and speedy support.

You might like to add a message for your members to read in regards to re-login in again. This is the only way you can deal with this issue at present. The members should clear their browser cache before attempting to log in again.

Ok, thanks – that is a great solution – how to I add a message that will show up on that output page?

Let me have the link to the tutorial how to do this, thanks again.

    No problem at all.

Please advise where I can edit the message that gets sent when I click Notify User feature when manually changing a membership type.

I cannot find any field for editing the content of that upgrade email notice in the Edit Email settings.

    Thanks!

You are welcome and thank you so much for your patience and support.

Do you have a cache plugin installed? No.

If you do, did you set the cache plugin to exclude member registration and login pages? N/A

Did you also clear the browser cache when you carried out a test?

Yes, since my last message I tested this. I found this result: that is the only time the page redirection works, is if browser cache is cleared manually and the browser is closed and restarted.

I would appreciate any advice you can give me to prevent clients having to do this every time they logout.
