    Hi!

I have two free memberships, no paid memberships set up.

The first one the members can join from public registration form and it is automatically active.

The second one upgrade manually from admin.

But I noticed that whenI upgrade members manually, then this email is not sent to member by the system:

    Email Settings (Account Upgrade Notification)
This email will be sent to your users after account upgrade (when an existing member pays for a new membership level).

Please let me know what I can do for it to work, thanks.

Hi, can you further explain the following comment.

The second one upgrade manually from admin.

Are you creating a members account via the admin or are you making changes to the members account via the admin panel?

If you are making changes to the members account via the admin panel, have you enabled the following feature Notify User?

Have you also enabled the following feature Send Email to Member When Added via Admin Dashboard. This is located under Email Settings.

    Regards

    Hi! No problem

Member creates account from front end registration form, account is automatically activated to first membership.

Once member does certain actions, then I do this:

    1. Log into WP Admin
    2. Go to Simple Membership / Members
    3. Find member, click Edit
    4. Find Membership Level field, click drop down arrow next to member level, select next membership from drop down options, then scroll down click EDIT USER button.

    Hope that helps!

Hi, thank you for sharing more information. Did you enable any of the features I mentioned above?

    Hi 🙂 No problem:

Are you creating a members account via the admin No.

or are you making changes to the members account via the admin panel? Yes.

If you are making changes to the members account via the admin panel, have you enabled the following feature Notify User? No, thanks for letting me know, I missed this one. and its now working, thank you!

Have you also enabled the following feature Send Email to Member When Added via Admin Dashboard. This is located under Email Settings. Yes

After enabling the Notify User feature, the upgrade notification email was sent, thank you!

But not the next problem is that I can’t find where to edit that email content.

I have edited all of the ones I could find in email settings, but none of those contents are sent.

I thought it would send the content I set in “Email Settings (Account Upgrade Notification)” but it is not sending that content.

Is there another feature to make it send that content and not whatever default was set?

    Thank you!

Hi, in regards to your question about the following e-mail message sent.

    Email Settings (Account Upgrade Notification)
This email will be sent to your users after account upgrade (when an existing member pays for a new membership level).

The above message is only for Paid Membership upgrade accounts. This is not for Free membership accounts.

Sorry about this, I should have read your original question closely.

    Regards

    No problem at all.

Please advise where I can edit the message that gets sent when I click Notify User feature when manually changing a membership type.

I cannot find any field for editing the content of that upgrade email notice in the Edit Email settings.

    Thanks!

When you are editing a member’s profile and you check the “Notify User” checkbox, the following two fields will show up just below that checkbox:

    Mail Subject
    Mail Body

Simply fill out those fields then when you save the profile, that email will get sent to the user.

Thank you! That solution will do very well for now. I’m very grateful that you took the time to let me know about that.

And I hope you will still consider having a permanent email template for changing membership status manually.

    All the best!

It will remember the email subject and body you type in that quick notification email area. So for the next member, you won’t have to type it up again (unless you want to change the email body totally).

Thanks for getting back to me with that explanation.

Yes I did notice that, and I appreciate that feature; I think its great and I can’t do without it now that you hilighted it to me!

But I also now use that Notify Email feature to send other notices to members, like when they have asked us to manually change some data for them. and then I have a template that I send to notify them of the changes.

So right now I have to copy and paste from a txt file my templates messages for the different messages when Notify user feature is used.

It’s ok while our business is only signing up a few day, but what happens when 200 members a day signs up, it will become a problem I think.

I love your script, its so easy to use. Thank you for supplying the free plugins, it gives us time to test it and find out about your amazing support.

    Have a fabulous New Year!
