OK, thanks for the suggestion, but I think the accounts that do not show status ‘Completed’ were created when my buttons were not set to use PayPal’s new API.

    No, none.

I believe I’ve sorted the issue with the paid subscribers who were unable to access protected content.

I still wonder why some are shown as ‘subscription created’, but not ‘Completed’. and how that might affect their subscriptions going forward.

I’m assuming the ID regeneration code didn’t work because those members are already active (albeit not shown as Status Completed).

    Thank you for your help.
I think it is working now, after deleting and recreating Paypal Live Webhooks

Could you explain why some subscribers on the Payments Transactions tab show status “subscription created” while others show status “completed”.

    Thank you.
I think it would be a worthwhile addition.

    Hi,

Thank you so much for your help.

You have shown me the way.

I implemented Method 2 but selected ‘PayPal Subscription’, not ‘PayPal Subscription (New API)’.

All is working well now. Thank you again.

    Regards

    OK, I solved this.
I moved the User from network to sub-site, then imported into Simple Membership.

When I visited the Add Member tab in the WP Membership menu I was confused by the wording, “Create a brand new user and add it to this site”, because I was not trying to add a brand new user, but import an existing user.

Anyway, it worked, so all’s well.

Thank you for your help and the plugin.

    Hi,
I’m trying to import the User using the WP membership menu of the sub-site dashboard.
I don’t think there’s any way to do it using the network admin?

    Hi,
Did you have an response back from the developers on this?

    Thank you.
Not many membership plugins offer email verification, although it’s the most effective way to limit spam accounts.

    Thank you for your reply.

Unfortunately, that doesn’t solve the problem.

Spam bot accounts still need to be flushed out manually. On my multisite setup, the ‘Auto Delete Pending Account’ would only delete the account for the subsite on which Simple Membership is activated. I would have to search through Network Admin/Users to find and delete the accounts manually.

More of an issue though is that genuine (i.e. email verified) newly registered members wouldn’t be able to post until I (or a mod) manually approved them (which would often result in their going away without posting).

I need to prevent accounts from registering in the WP User database before they have been email verified.

Just to add – here are some of my settings:

Simple WP Membership::Membership Levels: Edit membership level: (free level)
    Email Activation: Checked

WP Membership / Settings / General Settings tab:
    Default Account Status: Activation Required

WP Membership / Settings / Advanced Settings tab:
    Force WP User Synchronization: Checked
    Default Account Status: Activation Required

When the user does not click on the email account activation link, the user enters the WP Membership database with Account State: Activation_required (as expected).

The problem: The User also gains a standard WP account User account Status Approved.

Is there any way to prevent the standard WP account from being created until the user verifies via their email activation link?
