ParticipantSo you suggest I setup:
– One membership level for monthly payment that’s set to “Expire After” one month (connected to one payment button that has a Paypal monthly subscription)
– And another membership level for annual payment that’s set to “Expire After” 1 year and connected to a payment button that has a Paypal yearly subscription? Thanks

ParticipantCan anybody help with this?
See my last reply about what happens when a user cancels their recurring subscription.Much appreciated, thanks!

ParticipantHi,
I set it up as described above and think it works well.
One thing I’m not clear about is what happens if the user cancels their subscription (a recurring subscription).
The way that seems logical to me is that if the user has a monthly subscription where they pay on the 1st of each month, if the user cancels their payment on the 15th of the month the membership should continue till the end of the month. From what I understand in the documentation (https://simple-membership-plugin.com/what-happens-when-paypal-subscription-cancelled/), if the Access Duration is set to “No Expiry” then the member’s account will be cancelled immediately when the subscription is cancelled. But if it’s set to “Expire After” (for example: 1 month) then the subscription will continue till the end of the month.
So maybe Expire After is the right way to go?Thanks

ParticipantThank you, I will set it up that way and see.
Thanks!

ParticipantSo if I want to have a recurring subscription with 2 billing options, could I setup one membership level with “no expiry” and then just 2 payment buttons for subscriptions, one for monthly billing and one for annual billing (both for the same membership level)?
That way it would renew automatically each billing cycle until the user decides to cancel the membership?
Thanks
guy
ParticipantThanks for that.
I’m still not clear here. The way I want to set it up is that you can purchase a recurring subscription and you have 2 payment options: pay every month, or pay at the beginning of the year (which gives you a discount).
Both are recurring so either every month the user gets billed again, or at the end of every year, until the user decides to cancel.Based on that link you sent I thought that maybe “No Expiry (Ongoing Membership Type Setup)” would be the way to go, but then in example 2 (“Expire After (Duration Type Setup)”) it says “This option is typically used to sell a one time payment membership. The member can renew also. It can be used for subscription payments also.” which seems to be what I want with the yearly payment.
So again I’m confused. -
