ParticipantOK, I have deactivated all my plugins except for Simple WordPRessMembership and Simple Membership Custom Messages, and I get the same result.
I have just switched over to Twenty-Fifteen, and get the same result.
BUT HELP, when I switch back to Aegaeus Child Theme, all I get is a blank scree. And I cannot get access to either my site nor my WordPress admin. What I have I done…..

ParticipantI have Debug Log on, but I don’t get any references to searches and viewing of pages; all I get are when payments are made, and when After login redirection notices.

ParticipantI have deactivated and reactived the plug-in. I presume you didn’t mean to Delete the plug-in? Wouldn’t this erase all the date?
I have put a note on my website to remind people to look in their spam folders if they haven’t received the confirmation email.
I have also turned back on the “Send notification to Admin” when a member registers, just to monitor it. I presume this is the exact copy of what the member gets, so if Admin gets it then so should the member.
Many thanks for continue to look out for me. I will continue to monitor, but hopefully we have now got it sorted.

ParticipantA bit more evidence for you:
Here’s one where the Debug Log says “Could not find any record using the given email address”. BUT IT WAS THERE!
where **me** is substituted for my name, and
**user** is substituted for the user’s name———————

I got the Notification of Payment Received at 6:10 PM
It says ” SUCCESS :Creating new member account” but no new member account was created. There was just the original one with the Username field blank
As before, I had to delete this whole entry from the Member listings, and ADD NEW it again.

ParticipantYes, I got that update this morning

ParticipantYes, the plugin is working wonderfully except for that; and we can’t be expected cater fully for users who don’t read the instructions.
To answer your question above about Private Membership Site: no, I didn’t do that because I want casual visitors to see what there is to offer, and to let them join up for free if they wish.
Many thanks for looking into this.

ParticipantI don’t have Form Builder Add-on (although I will be purchasing it in a few days, so will hopefully receive the latest version).
I have had this problem with a good 30-40 out of the 2,000 or so. I originally instructed people not to use their email addresses as Usernames, but I’ve relaxed that now, and I don’t think that is a factor.
Quite a number had btinternet addresses.
The main pattern is that most of them had joined as “Free” to start with, but had then not read my instructions, and went for a paid-for option using a different email address (obviously, for their first one was being used).
I haven’t noticed anyone using special or accented characters.
I do tell my people that it can take between 30-60 minutes for PayPal to send back the verification (I picked these figures out of the air in order to discourage them from trying to logon the moment they had finished paying.
I’m rambling, but I hope some of this may give you a clue.
[I’ll come back to you tomorrow about the documentation you have just pointed to]

ParticipantNot any more. See the threads 5 & 6 further down. I have no cache plugins at all.
November 23, 2015 at 11:09 am in reply to: PayPal unable to find record using the given email address #4131fletj
ParticipantWhat I have found over the last 10 days (with over 2,000 registering), is that with paid accounts, as long as PayPal reports “Found a match in the member databas. Member ID: ****”, then all is well. But when PayPal doesn’t:
[11/21/2015 2:23 AM] – SUCCESS :Could not find any record using the given email address (**********). Attempting to query database using the unique reference: *********************
then the fields in the user database are all filled in except for the Username. The user receives his confirmation email, yet he says he cannot complete his registration.
When I look through Members, I see that all the Username field is blank, and the user cannot access it.
I then have to delete that member record and, after asking the user for his preferred Username, add him manually from my end.
I hope that explains it a little better.

ParticipantHi admin,
Just a heads-up for any others who may stumble upon this post.
I’m reporting back just to say: THANK YOU. It was a caching plug-in I had been advised to use by my webhost in order to speed up my site. I wasn’t aware that it had ramifications. Once switched off all this has now gone away.

ParticipantA while ago I was having some page-loading speed issues, so my host suggested installing W3 Total Cache. Now I’m not all that tech-savvy, so I went ahead and did it. Do you think is causing my problem. I have de-activated for now.
The trouble is I received this advice from what I thought was a trusted source (as I still believe they are) but I don’t know what consequences there are likely to be.
Are you saying that I should suppress all caching? Do you have any caching on on your website?
Many thanks,
JohnFfletj
ParticipantYes. No-one has reported not receiving that email. In fact some users emailed me beforehand worrying about going to PayPal BEFORE they had entered details. I was able to assure them that was just how the system worked. And they were successfully registered as paid members.
I do hope you can find out what is causing this. I have spent nearly the whole of the last 4 days since instituting this plugin just answering emails and having, in some cases, to delete their registration and re-inputting it manually.
If this login loop problem can be solved, it will be a great plugin for me, but I have made the decision to deactivate it for the moment. This, of course, opens up the whole site to everyone, but I can live with that for the moment.

ParticipantI forgot to add that the Debug Log is showing nothing but SUCCESS
