I have changed the Custom Message for Restricted Post (No Logged In).

The search results page shows the new message OK if I haven’t used the more tag.

But when I do use the more tag, the message goes back to your default of “You need to login to view the rest of this content. Please Login. Not a Member? Join us”.

Content protection has been applied to the pages in question.

Hi can you enable Debug Mode and then check the log file after you view your post using the More tag.

    Thank you

I have Debug Log on, but I don’t get any references to searches and viewing of pages; all I get are when payments are made, and when After login redirection notices.

Okay, try the following. Deactivate all your other plugins except this one. Carry out another test. If nothing happens, can you test one of WordPress themes like Twenty Fifteen?

One question do you have the latest plugin and add-on version installed? Are you using the Form Builder Add-on?

OK, I have deactivated all my plugins except for Simple WordPRessMembership and Simple Membership Custom Messages, and I get the same result.

I have just switched over to Twenty-Fifteen, and get the same result.

BUT HELP, when I switch back to Aegaeus Child Theme, all I get is a blank scree. And I cannot get access to either my site nor my WordPress admin. What I have I done…..

Hi. I’m a little calmer now. It appears that my theme Aegaeus decided to die on me. I have now activated Twenty-Twelve, but the more tag is still behaving in the manner I described above.

As I said, I deactivated all the plugins, and reactivated them, one at a time, and each time did a check on those results which have the More tag set.

The Debug Log shows all successes, but, curiously doesn’t show any activity other than PayPal and After Login redirection notices.

Hi, John I have carried out a test and yes I get the same results as you. There might be a conflict between the more tag option and the custom add-on. The plugin developers will investigate further this issue.

For the time being you might not want to use the more tag unless you don’t mind display the default message.

I couldn’t reproduce the issue on my end. Can you please give me more info on what I should do to reproduce.

What version of the plugin and addon are you using?

Are you using the latest version of everything?

Did you specify your message in the following fields of the custom message addon?

    Restricted Moretag
    Restricted Moretag (Not Logged In)

Remember, for more tag protection, the message from the above fields apply.

Hi admin; that was it. I hadn’t entered it into the Restricted Moretag and Restricted Moretag (Not logged In). That problem solved.

Finally, one last question: is there a way to create a newline before this message. At present it is running on from the end of the unrestricted content. I tried /n but that didn’t work.

    Cheers,

@JohnF try adding a line break <br>? See if that works for you.

No. Your original text had no opening and closing brackets, but & and characters. When I inserted it and saved it, it was converted to <br>. And that was what was I the message, on the same line.

    Never mind, it’s only cosmetic.

I say again, I am so pleased with your plugin; it is coping very well with nearly 3,500 registered members (once I had fully understood the documentation).

    Many thanks,
    JohnF
