I have some questions regarding testing the registration.
I understand from this topic
that I need to use the free membership option to test the registration process and email triggers. My question is, how can I test the emails triggers if I can not use the checkout process that requires the trigger? I am trying to see if the email that goes out after the checkout process is done is triggered, but since the free option would not include the checkout process, the full testing can not be completed and I have no idea if the email is being sent.
Also, I have no idea where the system gets the customer email to be sent to, assuming PayPal. If the checkout process happens before the register process, does the system send the email to their address they used with PayPal?October 16, 2020 at 12:01 am #21172
You can use the following option to test the emails for Free membership.
does the system send the email to their address they used with PayPal?
If it is a premium membership level registration, the answer is yes.
Let me know if the above helps you.

This all barely dances around what I need to do as far as testing, and ultimately, I am going to have to fiddle around with what I assume to be multiple live transaction test runs before I figure it out. But it is what it is. I hope in the end after all this work, that the plugin actually works.October 17, 2020 at 12:26 am #21336
For the following standard paid membership registration process, the email is sent to the PayPal email address of the user (the email that PayPal sends to our plugin)
For the following membership registration process, the user will have an account on the site before making a payment, so it doesn’t need to rely on the paypal email:
If your site has any email issue, that will be external to this plugin. The following post has a general information about understanding the email issue that can exist on a site:
