Plugin Won't Logout

Hi there,

Members are having trouble with the plugin in the footer all of a sudden. They can login, but they can’t logout anymore, if they wish. Their username and information still shows once clicking the LOGOUT link. And yet, if you click, EDIT PROFILE link, it says you are not logged in, but all your information is still showing. I’ve tested this in the Firefox, Opera, and Safari browsers.

I have an example of what happens that I could send you. (For a while there, we were even having trouble logging in.) This is a new occurrence. We have not had this issue until recently.

I have been testing simple membership for our club’s website. I’ve been having a similar problem where if I log out, then try to log in again, it says I’m still logged in. I’ve had to clear my history for the day after logging out to be able to get the log in screen.

I’m using SG Optimizer, but I’m not the only one having this problem. It’s some of the members. (And I’m testing on different browsers.)

Also, I notice that when I attempt to logout, I am still logged into the areas that are protected. This is a mess.

What would happen if I deactivate the plugin and start over?

Hi, have you tried disabling your cache plugin and then carrying out a test. Also make sure you clear your browser cache as well.

Well, we’re making progress.

1. I purged the cache and then de-activated it.

2. I disabled SG Optimizer and activated WP Super Cache.

Now I can login and logout, but the problem is that it still ‘says’ I’m logged in. (I know that I’m not only because I can’t get into protected pages.) It’s only after I go to another page on the site that the login resets itself and shows I’m logged out.

This is going to be very confusing to our members who have always been able to login and logout.

Thank you again for your response.

I already had that setting enabled, but it is not working. Yes, I see that the login information is blank, but I am still able to access protected material without signing back in. (I exited the browser, per your instructions.)

I’m sure you’re as frustrated by this query as I am. I don’t want to delete the plugin and start over as I will loose all the members. I’m at a loss now for what to do.
