ParticipantHello again,
We’ve had great success with your plugin for the past 6 months after ironing out the kinks. We’re still very happy with it.Last week, the login stopped working. The form seems to process correctly and doesn’t throw any errors. But the user is still logged out.
Our login screen is here:
http://corkscrewclub.org/membership-login/After login, a user should be able to access any of the links here:
http://corkscrewclub.org/library-archives/. Currently, every link tells the user they are not logged in.It’s also easy to tell that the login didn’t work because I have a script on the top right to check if the user is logged in. If they are, the user sees a “logout” link in place of the “login” link.
I’ve walked through the very helpful steps here: https://simple-membership-plugin.com/forums/topic/common-reasons-for-member-login-related-issues/
I deactivated every plugin except simple membership (including our simple membership premium add-ons) and still encountered the same problem.
I have communicated with our host, and they say the php session configuration is fine.
We have changed nothing on our side, so the problem is either related to our host configuration or wp/plugin upgrade.
Could it be our upgrade to WP 4.8.3? We upgraded on Oct 31.I can set you up with an admin login (provided outside of the forum) if that would help.
Thanks again for the great product and support.

ModeratorHi, do you have any other addon installed for this plugin? Are you also running the latest plugin version 3.5.8?
November 13, 2017 at 9:49 pm #12449sezg
ParticipantThanks. I have Simple Membership Custom Messages, Simple Membership Form Builder, Simple Membership WP User Import and Simple Membership Login Redirection.
All add-ons were deactivated for testing. The only plugin I was running was the main membership plugin.
Yes, I am running 3.5.8 of your plugin. Thanks!

ParticipantI’m having the same problem.
It stopped working since friday nov. 10As mentioned by others (example: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/can-only-log-in-once/) users seem to be able to login once and then after logout then can never login again. Eventhough the debug log says [11/14/2017 7:40 PM] – SUCCESS: After login redirection addon. Checking if member need to be redirected.
Wordpress 4.8.3
Simple WordPress Membership Version 3.5.8
Simple Membership After Login Redirection Version v1.3November 14, 2017 at 10:02 pm #12457mbrsolution
Moderator@simplemember, thank you for reporting this. The plugin developers will investigate further this issue.

ParticipantI am having a similar problem in that our users will login and everything is fine but when they try to log in again they get a message saying password empty or words to that effect. I reset their password and they are fine and then the whole process starts again. We run a college and it is very important that our students can log in to the college documentation and because they are often studying after hours I am not always available to instantly reset for them. We are using your page redirect plugin as well. Appreciate your assistance. Really hope you can sort this issue out for me as the plugin is perfect for our needs when working properly.

ParticipantI believe this is a CRITICAL issue. Is there an estimate on when we’ll hear back?
Also, has anyone tried rolling back to WP 4.8? I have a sneaking suspicion it would fix it…

ParticipantI’m running 4.8.3 haven’t updated yet. The issue is critical for us.

ParticipantCould it be anything to do with the logout function? We have a couple of students who have reported the problem after their computer has “gone to sleep” so they haven’t logged out properly.

ParticipantMy problem has been on 4.8.3 as well, which came out on Oct 31. I am betting that’s when our logins stopped working. I’m nervous to upgrade to 4.9 now. Looking forward to the developer’s response. THanks.

ModeratorHi, @Glyn, do you have a cache plugin installed? Someone also reported a similar issue as yours and it was related to their cache plugin.
November 18, 2017 at 5:01 pm #12508Glyn
ParticipantHi not sure what a cache plugin is so I would say no. Can you give me an example?
November 18, 2017 at 5:02 pm #12509Glyn
