ParticipantHi, 2 questions, I am offering a 2 week free trial and then $50 a month after that, but when a customer signs up for the free trial and wants to cancel before the 2 weeks is up how do they do this on their own, there is no where I can see for the customer to cancel from their dashboard when logged into the website. I have selected the check box in Settings > advanced settings > Allow Account Deletion and when I create a test account I see no where to cancel either when logged into the test account.
2nd question is when they sign up for the free 2 week free trial I dont see anywhere in my paypal account that they have signed up and I cant manually cancel their account but when the 2 weeks is up they get charged via paypal and I then need to refund the customer. I dont know if my question #1 and #2 are tied into the same answer in any way.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

ModeratorHi Jason, I just carried out a test and I can see in the profile page from the logged in member right at the bottom the following Delete Account.
So before we go any further, can you carryout the following troubleshooting steps.
Thank you

ParticipantHi,
Thanks for the reply, I just logged into my admin and I see the delete under the user but when I login to my test account, like I am a customer I do not see the delete user account.. Here is my website daytradingfearless.com and if you want to login and look at it, the Username & Password are both money
Also I had a customer sign up for the 14 day free trial this morning but when I go to my PayPal account I dont see him in there, is this the way it should be, the reason is if he want to cancel before the 14 days I have no way of doing it and then he will just automatically be billed. Any thoughts on this one? I also have the IPN enabled per your instruction in the document.
Thank you

ModeratorHi, I logged in with the username and password you mentioned above. But I don’t see the members profile? Where is that link? I am talking about Simple Membership profile link.
In regards to your second question, please read the following documentation.
Thank you

ParticipantJust to make sure were on the same page, when I login as the admin I can delete and change all user info, but when I login as the member(username & password of money ) I can’t cancel the membership anywhere….
also to your question, When you login with the username & password ( money ) you will see in the upper right it will say howday, money you then hover your mouse over it and it will say edit profile and take you to the members profile page but there is nowhere on that page for the member to cancel their membership, which is my main question as I want the member to be able to cancel.
as for the 2nd question I read the documentation in your link and have done all that and I have the IPN in PayPal active an seems to be working because in PayPal it says its enabled, my main question on this was, I created a subscription link via your plugin in the payment settings of your plugin and added a free 14 day trial, but when the customer signs up there is nowhere for me to cancel them in Paypal if they want to cancel before the 14 day free trial is up and after the 14 day it automatically charges them and I have had to refund them when they request to cancel before the 14 days is up.. Do I need to go to members section in the plugin and then > Edit > then change the “account Status” to expired or Inactive, for the paypal not to chaarge them after the 14days ??? Thanks for any help on this
I hope this help to clear up any confusion..
I also appropriate all your help.

ModeratorHi Jason thank you for providing more information.
I believe we are on the same page 🙂
In regards to your comment about the profile page found on the top right hand side, that is the WordPress user profile page. I am talking about Simple Membership members profile page. I can’t find it anywhere. That is the page that has the Delete Account feature added at the bottom of the profile page. That is why you are having this issue.
Please check the following documentation to make sure all your pages are correct.
In regards to your second question, you can cancel the account from your website. The members are illustrated under Members tab in the plugin. However once your resolve the first problem then the members will be able to cancel the account once the option appears in their profile page.
Please report back with your findings.
Kind regards

ParticipantHi
Ok, I re-created a “Edit Profile Page” per the instructions on the document you gave me and put the short code in it and put the new url link in the settings section. It works good, the only thing is when I login as the member aka username and password ( money ) I still do not see this edit profile pge, so what I did was in my members section I just put a link to edit their profile and that seems to work… where should this edit profile page be for the member to find it when logged in??
As for the 2nd question if they delete their account will it also cancel their PayPal payments, as on the edit profile page I don’t see where they can manage their PayPal payments via your payment plugin?
Thank you

ModeratorHi, your profile page should be added to the following path /membership-login/membership-profile/. That means that when the member logs in, they will have access to their profile. Is your profile page in the same path?
In regards to your second question, the answer is yes. PayPal will cancel their account the moment they delete their membership account from your website.

ParticipantHi, sorry for the delay getting back to you, What I did was I add the [swpm_profile_form] to my login page and when they login and then go back to the login page it shows all their information… So all is working perfect now…
as for the 2nd question on PayPal, sounds good.
Thank you for all your help and getting back to my questions in a very timely matter, I will defiantly recommend your plugin to my friends and also use it on my future websites.
Thanks
