Hi, I have not seen a similar problem in the forum.

My client wants all new members added by a WordPress Administrator, not on a registration form.

So from the required details collected from new members, a new member is created by the administrator via the dashboard, WP Membership – New Member. All the fields in the new member form default and display the details of the first member that was created. I can create a new member (we have decided to use the email as the user name), so the fields filled in are as per the new member details, user name, email, first name, last name, address details etc. When this is saved all looks ok, as the screen that appears after saving is the summary screen listing all members. That is the fields that are displayed, user name, first name, last name, email, start date and membership type all are correct. If I go into the actual record, the user name (now a locked field), the membership type and the access start date are the only 3 fields that are correct as I have entered the new member details (and the password). All other fields have defaulted to the details of the first created member

Have you seen this behaviour before? Any suggestions on what I can do to overcome this

    Thanks, Ken

Hi, first of all. Are you using the Form Builder addon by any chance? If not did you follow the instructions below to add new members?

    https://simple-membership-plugin.com/manually-adding-members-site/

If you followed the instructions above and the problem persist, it could be related to a plugin/theme conflict. Please carry out the following troubleshooting steps.

    https://simple-membership-plugin.com/forums/topic/test-for-plugin-and-theme-conflict-before-posting-an-issue-or-a-bug/

Also, try the following. Clear the browser cache every time you add a new member.

Let me know if the instructions above help you.

    Thank you.

Hi, thanks for the fast response. It has taken me a few days to work through this.
No, not using the Form Builder Addon.
I am manually adding members as per the manually adding members link.
I have deactivated all plugins, except WP Membership, and the problem persists.
I did notice something strange when I opened an existing member entry, I had to record the opening (editing) of an existing member entry to confirm
As the member form opens in edit mode, the username and the email are the same which is what I would expect. We decided to use the email as the username, for simplicity.
After a split second, there is a change to the email address which defaults to the email of the first registered member. All members default to the first member registered details, address etc when any member document is opened.
The display of all members listed (WP Membership – Members) shows the correct username and email address.
The member details are also ok, that is username and email address when I open a member in the WP user menu (Users – All Users) as well as when I open an individual member record

Should I delete the plugin and start over?

    Thanks for your support, Ken

    Hi,

After a split second, there is a change to the email address which defaults to the email of the first registered member.

This might have something to do with the browser keeping a copy of the previous records. Make sure the browser is not caching or storing any records when you add a new member manually. Try the following, add a member and clear the browser cache. Then add a new member. Let me know what happens?

    Kind regards
