“First Click Free” is a feature that is “baked into” Google’s search engine. There is no way for anyone to design an alternative for it, without Google’s cooperation.

As for emails; when you use PayPal; the users should be getting emails, both from PayPal and from the plugin.

Did you configure payment integration properly? Specifically, the post-payment IPN?

You’d find the “Profile Updated” string in the language file, and append the desired HTML link to it.
What you can try, is modifying the “Profile Updated” string, to include a message and/or link:

I copied the shortcodes and pasted them as is. The result was the same for all:”This Content is for Members Only.” And the members show as Active.
That tells me partial content protection is not correctly setup. Please carefully recheck these instructions:
