Is there an update to this ticket? A login button that changes to logout would be a real plus for this otherwise very useful plugin. Any plans to create one? Or let us know how to get one?

This is the code we used: (screenshot) http://prntscr.com/kra8db
The (staging server) page is here: https://gist.techtriadlabs.com/event/philanthropy-racial-equity-and-fiscal-policy/
The message we SHOULD see is: “Whatever content goes here is only visible to members who belong to the membership level 2.” (nicely formatted). Code was entered in text mode. Visual Composer is not used on this post.

This is what we see: http://prntscr.com/kraaoi

Can you tell us what we may have done wrong? (I believe you already have a login for this site.)

This code is a VC row with ONLY a shortcode and no text:

    [vc_row][vc_column]YOUR SHORTCODE[dt_blog_masonry mode="grid" custom_content_bg_color="#1f365c" post_content_paddings="20px 20px 20px 20px" image_scale_animation_on_hover="n" image_hover_bg_color="n" all_posts_the_same_width="y" post_title_font_size="16px" post_title_line_height="21px" custom_title_color="#ffffff" post_title_bottom_margin="10px" post_date="n" post_category="n" post_author="n" post_comments="n" meta_info_font_size="12px" meta_info_line_height="14px" excerpt_words_limit="20" content_font_size="13px" content_line_height="19px" custom_content_color="#ffffff" category="33"]END YOUR SHORTCODE[/vc_column][/vc_row]

We put your shortcode right after the first [vc_column] where their shortcode is starts. See “END YOUR SHORTCODE” for where we put the closing tag. We did this in both visual and text editor modes.

I don’t think the issue is VC itself; it’s shortcodes that the theme developer uses. We can hide text (even using VC) but if the ONLY item is a shortcode, then the plugin doesn’t recognize it (or vice versa). I can work around it but VC is pretty popular and I hope you can figure out a way to make dueling shortcodes work! (This is a GREAT tool and I really appreciate your work on it.)
