ParticipantI solved this issue by using User Role Sidebar Menu plugin
https://wordpress.org/plugins/user-role-sidebar-menu/
I have it set up that it only appears when a member is signed in and is a “Subscriber” – the role that I have assigned to registered members. You can set it up for any role that you assign.

ParticipantI have all my protected links in a second menu on the sidebar that only appears when you are logged in and you can go back and forth from the protected to non protected pages using both the menu links and the back button.
Sure sounds like some sort of cookie issue.

ParticipantAre you using the login built into Simple Membership? I was having that problem when I was trying to use the regular WordPress login widget.

ParticipantYes – I would – it is the perfect time to try it – the site is still in the development mode!

ParticipantThe way I have it set up is that I have the PayPal button on the membership-join page. I have them go to PayPal and pay first then they receive the e-mail with the link and are routed to the membership-registration page.
