ParticipantHi @admin
Yes it is exactly the same issue. Maybe I explained it in a different way, but the following statament is what I’m experiencing as well.
The password can’t be changed / updated! All other fields are stored successfully in the database, but the password remains the same.
If two different passwords are entered, the forms marks this as invalid correctly. But as soon as the same password is entered twice, I’m logged out as it should be (together with the info, that this is normal on changing the password) but on the next login I can’t use the new password, I’ve to use the old one again.
So, as soon as someone tries to change their password through your, or any other, password form on the front-end, when they try the new password, it says something like “password field incorrect or empty”.
If I modify it from the back-end as an administrator, it works, and user can use their new password provided by me. But that’s not a good practise.
I have the latest version, which I see it’s 3.8.8 both in WP repository and github.
Please help!
Marta
ParticipantHello,
I’m experiencing this same issue.
One of my users have tried to change the password through the Simple Membership profile, and when signs out and she tries to sign in again, it says that the user doesn’t exist.
I have modified her password through her WP user, and I have been able to sign in. However, I have changed again the password from the frontend, as if I was her, and again, it’s not possible.
Where in Github can I download the updated plugin?
Thanks,

ParticipantI live in Spain. I just cited from a source in English for everyone here to understand, no matter if UK is part of Europe or not.
BUT, if you think that being outside Europe you don’t need to comply with GDPR, that’s wrong.
This forum, for instance. Where is it hosted? Is it outside Europe? But you have users, like me and others, who are living in Europe.
Just because your system is storing data from European users you need to comply with GDPR. Adn just because you store my data if I buy a premium addon from you, you need to comply with GDPR.
I do know that being GDRP compliance is very painful. I can tell. But unless you don’t store European users in your systems, you need to comply. Otherwise, you can be hardly penalized.
That’s why so many services have updated themselves to become compliant. Because penalties are huge, and can ruin any business forever.
And that’s why so many other services, whose owners focus on, let’s say, american users, but however, European users come to their sites and sign up, and whose sites are not complying with GDPR, and they might get reported and penalized for this.
So, it’s irrelevant if UK is or not part of Europe…
GDPR is for everybody, and needs to be taken very seriously.
Please see these links:
https://www.spamtitan.com/blog/does-gdpr-apply-to-american-companies/
https://www.forbes.com/sites/forbestechcouncil/2017/12/04/yes-the-gdpr-will-affect-your-u-s-based-business/#5bb2e5dd6ff2And please make Simple Membership fully compliant for the safety of all us, your users, both in Europe and outside Europe.
As I said, and although I’m not a developer, this is apparently quite easy. I did it myself with my contact form. We need evidence that the user ticked the acceptance box, and a record of it with a timestamp and an IP to prove it. With Paid Membership Pro, this was something you could see on the edit user screen. Only that, of course, it was not an editable field.
I really hope that this post help us all to become GDPR compliant.
Kind regards,
MartaMarta
ParticipantAny update on this?
Thanks!

ParticipantHi The Assurer,
In Europe we need to comply with GDPR law, and what you say (and what the plugin does), it’s not enough, I’m afraid.
Please have a look:
Therefore, other plugins, like Paid Membership Pro, save consent.
This should be a very easy thing to implement in any form and it’s crucial and urgent that you update your plugin in this regard: The registration form needs to save the positive tick, which means the user gives consent. This needs to be saved with a timestamp and should be saved, for instance, like the username, in a field that is not modifiable by the webiste admin.
Please, let developer know…. Tomorrow I’m planning to go from staging to live. I live in Europe and I need to save consent like this!
Please make this plugin totally GDPR compliant before any of us users go into trouble for not being saving our users’ consent. 🙂
Many thanks in advance. This plugin is, otherwise, great!

ParticipantThanks! It works!
Marta
ParticipantHi, this is working!! Many, many thanks!!
Before I close this thread as solved, I have another request for this same plugin.
Could you please also make translatable the information that the plugin provides about the member?
For instance, I’m using expiry_date, and it says “No expiry”, which is in English.
And I am using account_state, and it says “active”, which is in English too.
It would be very appreciated! 🙂

ParticipantHi,
This is solved! Thank you!

ParticipantWhat is the correct message you always get?
For me it’s not that “Already a member of this level” is incorrect, but it’s in English, and I want to translate it.
Thanks for submitting a message to the developers… That sentence obviously comes from your plugin, so it has to be somewhere. It’s just placed on the update membership button place. Have you check the code for that button?
Kind regards,
MartaMarta
ParticipantWell… strangely, it appears in English, but that’s not the case for other plugins.
For instance, on mujeressentadasencirculo.org/blog/, you can see my latest blog posts, and their dates appears in Spanish.
Is there anything else we could investigate?
Kind regards,

ParticipantHi,
Apologies for the delay.
The one which is showing this sentence in English is:
[swpm_update_level_to level=”3″ button_text=”Gratis” redirect_to=”https://test.mujeressentadasencirculo.org/tu-cuenta/”%5D
Now, in case it’s useful to you, in this page I’m also using:
[swpm_payment_button id=6275 button_text=”Suscríbete por 19,99 € /mes”]
[swpm_protected for=”2″ do_not_show_protected_msg=”1″]
[swpm_protected for=”3-4-5-6″ do_not_show_protected_msg=”1″]
[swpm_protected for=”3-4-5-6″ do_not_show_protected_msg=”1″]

ParticipantHi,
Yes, the rest of plugins show my dates in Spanish with no problem! It has to be something about Simple Membership plugin.
My format is customized, “j F Y”.
I hope you can help!

ParticipantYeah, but the important thing is that Super Social’s developer was interested in contacting with you, what he has already done through email.
I wish you good luck, as it will be good for all of us if his plugin can work with yours!
Kind regards,

ParticipantHi, the page is totally protected.
Here’s a pic: drive.google.com/open?id=1BrgYiyc8kktPaXpD4vj3C9BT61fZ9etk.
This is a place where the user will come back to choose another membership. There are three memberships, once they are registered with a free-just-for-register membership.
Here, they have chosen the free membership, which is Pobladora. There was a button there, they pressed it and they were redirected to their membership account. Then, after a while, they decided to come back to this page, and choose a paid membership, like Maestra. So, now they can see that.
That text, should be in Spanish, but I can’t translated it.
Now, about my advanced settings: 0 means not activated and 1 means activated:

ParticipantHi,
I’m using the shortcode [swpm_show_member_info column=”member_since_formatted”] and my site and user are configured to Spanish, but I see the date in English.
Could you please help?
