ParticipantI have school districts that sponsor parents membership to our site.
As a precursor, I send the purchasing agent instructions to forward the registration email they receive after making payment to the end user to complete. The end user can modify the required entries to match their information.
Works great for first time enrollments, however not for reoccurring sponsorships. I was browsing this forum hoping to find a workaround for that scenario. As of now, I have to manually modify the sponsored members profile to extend their membership. Subscriptions are not an option for these school districts.July 30, 2023 at 6:44 pm in reply to: PayPal error “We’re sorry, things don’t appear to be working at the moment.” #26995Steve
ParticipantIt makes sense that PayPal would require a PayPal account to enable it to manage a reoccurring payment scenario, then the question would be, since I am using the Simple Membership Plugin to create the button, wouldn’t the option to use a credit/debit card as a guest, be something controlled when the subscription button is created in Payments?
As far as the being able to offer a subscription under a business account, we have a business account and aren’t experiencing any restrictions with our subscriptions other than the aforementioned issue with trying to purchase as a guest.Steve
ParticipantThank you for the advice.
I will check it out.Steve
ParticipantThank you for the quick response.
Yes I did follow the the instructions.
In my case both check boxes are unchecked.
Checked or unchecked I still have three choices as mentioned in my first post.
I note that if I select Horizontal verses Vertical, it reduces the choices to just a single PayPal Checkout button.
I am satisfied if it cannot be done. I will add text to direct the users I am targeting to select the credit card button and that should suffice.Steve
ParticipantThank you. Seems like the API route is the way to go.
