ParticipantI had an inquiry about someone wanting to buy a gift subscription. The membership process goes straight to the PayPal server, which makes it difficult to know if it is possible to purchase for someone else. Has anyone advice about how to set up a capacity for gift membership?

ModeratorHi, there might be a way to achieve what you are trying to do. Please check the following documentation. Let me know if this method works for you.
Kind regards

ParticipantThanks for that. This would be useful for a special deal. But I can’t figure out how it would work out for someone who wants to pay for a gift subscription for another person. It would require a form that would differential the payor’s details from the gift recipient. Sorry if I’m slow on this.

ModeratorHi, thank you for sharing more information.
In the scenario you mentioned above my method would not work. I have submitted a message to the developers to investigate further your request.
Thank you

KeymasterAt this stage the buyer will have to complete the transaction and registration. Then they can then give the username and password to the other person. That user will be able to log in and update the email address any other details to his.

ParticipantOK. It’s not quite as appealing as something that comes direct, but it looks workable. And if the giver already has a membership? Is it possible for someone to pay for more than one membership under the same email account?

ParticipantHi,
Has there been any update on this? Looking to have one user purchase multiple memberships for different users. The above solution does not work for that scenario.
Any help would be most appreciated.

As far as I know, no.

If you have a gmail account you can use gmail aliases.
Let me know if this helps you.
Thank you

ParticipantThis is not very helpful. Thanks for trying. It’s pretty cumbersome for the user and for the manager or the site.
Is there a place I can put a request to have this as an add-on for this plugin?

Moderator@RoughReady, you can use the following contact form. A developer will get back to you.

ParticipantI have school districts that sponsor parents membership to our site.
As a precursor, I send the purchasing agent instructions to forward the registration email they receive after making payment to the end user to complete. The end user can modify the required entries to match their information.
Works great for first time enrollments, however not for reoccurring sponsorships. I was browsing this forum hoping to find a workaround for that scenario. As of now, I have to manually modify the sponsored members profile to extend their membership. Subscriptions are not an option for these school districts.October 10, 2024 at 1:29 am #28906The Assurer

Please go into more detail of how you “want” the process to work. -
