On protected posts I’m getting the need to be logged in message.
Both in the snippet or excerpt before the read more. AND on the actual post page.
Problem is ONLY the text on the full post page has the links for them to login or Join.

Would like to either not show anything before the “Read More” or “Continue reading” in my case. OR at least have the Login & Join Us be live working links.

    All ideas?
    Thanks
    Frank

Sounds like you’re just trying to give me busy work because you do not have a solution?

First a link that “Doesn’t work” that actually does….Now a link to troubleshooting which everyone who has read the forums has seen.
Now…thin we can move on to this situation and why the text before the Read more does not contain the links?

    Thanks
    Frank

The same thing is happening with Expired members notice.
When on the Category page the correct text is there. ( just no active links )
The once you click the “Continue Reading” and jump to the individual post. Things are fine.

    Hi,

Sounds like you’re just trying to give me busy work because you do not have a solution?

I am sorry for not being able to help you further. The reason why I wanted you to check the troubleshooting steps is to carry out a process of elimination. I have not come across this issue myself so doing a plugin and theme conflict test I thought would be a good starting step.

I have submitted a message to the developers to investigate further your issue. Once again I am I was not able to help you further.

    Kind regards

    @fmsdigital —

Have you tried temporarily switching to another theme (as per the instructions referenced by @mbrsolution)? Some themes will strip (HTML) formatting codes from excerpts.

    Yes.
And it does look like that is what is happening.
However, I’m not switching themes and creating a new website for these people.
Do you have a solution for this?

However, I’m not switching themes and creating a new website for these people.

That’s your choice. The problem is caused by the theme’s page template; and there is nothing the plugin can do to override it.

Do you have a solution for this?

    1. You can study this WordPress codex document; determine which of your theme’s template files need modification, and then change the excerpt display behavior to meet your needs.

    2. You can complete a Paid Support request, and we can make the theme modifications for you.

Well, I guess if the owners don’t complain?
Otherwise off to find a better plugin I guess.

…off to find a better plugin I guess.

Please, let the world know when you find a miracle plugin, that can hack the theme it’s running under.
