Trigger email when creating a member with the API

I was wondering if there was a way to trigger the email that automatically gets sent when someone signs up normally, but when I create a member with the API?

I already have that checked and the email does not get sent when I add a member using the API. Anything else I can try?

Are you creating the user from the SWPM dashboard, or programmatically?

Did you remember to include the send_email option?
