Hello good people. I have installed a SMP, but haven’t configured it yet.

I’ve added an editor and the he couldn’t see the toolbar when viewing website. Only admin panel. Through simple method deactivate all and active, I’ve came to the conclusion that SMP is the source of the problem. When I deactivate it, editor can see normally the toolbar, when activated not.

Can you help me out with this?

I am using the latest wordpress and plugin version.

I am reporting that I have this same issue. I copied system to a sandbox (copied database, wordpress directory, and modified wp_options to change the site URL)

One by one I deactivated all my plugins. Each time I checked to see if my admin toolbar showed up. The very last plugin I had activated was “Simple WordPress Membership”. When I deactivated it, my admin toolbar showed up.

I re-activated Simple WordPress Membership, and my toolbar again went away when viewing the public site.

Note that in my profile, the entire time I had “Show toolbar when viewing site” checked (on).

THEN…I looked closer at my SWM settings and noticed these 2 options:

    Hide Adminbar
    Show Adminbar to Admin

I had the first checked and the second not checked. SO DUH! This overrides individual user profile settings for showing the toolbar.

I changed my config to check BOTH of those options, and now when I’m logged in as an admin, I see my toolbar.

    @LaMpiR
, is there any chance your issue is as simple as this?

@TroyWolf that is the way to enable the Admin bar, well done πŸ˜‰ In @LaMpiR case it would be trivial if it was the same as your case because of his comment.

I have installed a SMP, but haven’t configured it yet.

Which I assumed that they have installed the plugin and not enabled it yet or installed the plugin and left it as default without making any changes. I am hoping it is one of the aforementioned πŸ˜‰

The following two options are not enabled by default.

    Hide Adminbar
    Show Adminbar to Admin

But then again you might be right with your solution πŸ˜‰

Thank you for always helping out. It is much appreciated.

    Hello good people.

Thank you very much for quick reply to my stupid questions.

I meant, that I haven’t configured anything like user levels and so on. I just turned it on.

The options were somehow active and they were the reason that admin bar was not showing itself to my editors, only to admins.

I am waiting on some money and will be getting a premium plugin Form Builder Addon in order to make everything work πŸ™‚ I am doing all this for a student organisation with tight budget.

Now, I have another small problem. I want to show only the toolbar to editors and admins, so that normal users dont have access to it nor to wp-admin panel to check their profile.

I have downgraded my test account and the toolbar is still there on the frontpage? I have turned it off in user options as well.

I just need the users, student level that will be created to don’t have the toolbar but the editors and admin to do.

@ currently there is not option to control the admin bar as per your request. You might like to check the following plugin Admin Menu Editor.

Let me know if you need more help.

Hi. Once again, thank you for the reply.

But why is then the toolbar option with users overridden? It is still there, even though it is turned off in the user profil and no such option is available with SMP?

You might have a conflict with one of your plugins or theme.
