When I’m sending account activation messages the users are seeing exactly what’s in the admin section – meaning that the shortcodes like, {user_name} show up as exactly that rather than the user name.
I’ve looked in these forums and don’t see anything like this except when some people had an extra space in their shortcodes – which is not the case here.
Can anyone point me to a solution, please? I can’t keep sending confirmation messages to people that say:
Registration details:
Username: {user_name}
Password: {password}Please login to the member area at the following URL:

Hi try the following, deactivate and delete the plugin. Then install a fresh new copy. Carry out a test?
Thank you
Thanks for the quick response.
Will this delete all of the settings I’ve put in so far?
Hi, no it will not delete your settings. However if you feel safer to create a backup before you delete the plugin please do so.
Kind regards
Didn’t work – same outcome.
The password reset emails that are sent do seem to work.
Activating members does not, however. I’m still looking through your documentation but this has us at a standstill.
Yes I agree with you, this is very strange. Would you be able to test a different e-mail account? Just for curiosity.
I’m experiencing the same thing. Was there a resolution to this issue?

@carlamarrow, can you carry out the following troubleshooting instructions.
If the above does not help, can you share exactly what is typed for that e-mail settings in your site?
Thank you
