    Hi
Everything is working fine apart from one thing – renewal of expired memberships.

I have a Stripe subscription button set up and people can buy a membership which happily renews at the end of the period. But, if a member’s account expires, and they try to renew they get an error message –

Fatal error! Payment with ref_id swpm_1cd36e4794bxxxxxe7ec5a85xxxf|905 can’t be found

I have checked the Hook URL, the keys, the App ID and everything seems to be set up correctly. I’ve looked through the support formum for similar issues and checked those through but can’t resolve this issue.

Any pointers would be gratefully received.

    Thanks

Hi, have you also created a membership renewal button as per the following documentation by any chance?

    Regards.

Yes, I have a membership renewal page and have reused the button shortcodes from the initial subscription (join) page which work fine.

I have been through that page you mention and the site is set up exactly as per the instructions.

Could this issue I’m experiencing be due to a incorrect config in Stripe ?

    Thanks

Hi, I have submitted a message to the developers to investigate further your issue.

    Thank you.

Recently I saw this on another user’s site where it was happening due to a plugin conflict on that site. So it is worth doing the following test:
    https://simple-membership-plugin.com/forums/topic/test-for-plugin-and-theme-conflict-before-posting-an-issue-or-a-bug/

Then try creating a new stripe subscription button on a test page using the following method. Check if that new one works (to get an indication if the old button has an issue or a stripe configuration is incorrect):
