ParticipantHello
My members signing up to a premium membership do receive the link in their email after paying and click that link, see the registration form, but after filling it in, nothing happens.
Here is the link:
[http://senconference.co.uk/membership-join/membership-registration/?member_id=12&code=11e851a20aecd7df21d6b2ecd022a9ad]In Firefox it just reloads the same page after submitting the form.
When I tested in Chrome, I saw this message after submitting the form:
Wordpress account exists with given email. But given username doesn’t match. In the backend I can see the member in there with a username of [Incomplete]
Please advise?

ParticipantHello
Thank you. I already followed all these steps – the user receives the email and clicks the link. The payment has definitely gone through and the notification been received, in the payments section it is showing.
None of this is the problem – the problem is after they lick the link they receive in the email and fill in the registration form it does nothing and they remain listed as Incomplete in the members section.
Please advise.
Thanks

ModeratorHi, what kind of PayPal button did you create for your premium membership?
Can you enable Debug Mode and carry out a test? Then check the log files and report back.
Is your PayPal IPN set up in your PayPal account?
Are you currently using the Form Builder addon?June 23, 2017 at 11:12 am #11305lyndamangoro
ParticipantHello
We are using a subscription button.
The Paypal IPN is set up and working.
Payments always go through fine and get recorded in Wordress, even for the problemating users who get stuck on ‘Incomplete’, their payments are comign through and being recorded in the plugin Payment area.
We have had a couple of users register fine without experiencing this problem.
It is just on some occasions when a new member clicks the link in the email and fills in the form, it does nothing and they stay stuck on Incomplete.
We are using the Form SHortcode Addon.
ThanksJune 24, 2017 at 5:15 am #11308mbrsolution
ModeratorHi, lets do the following. Make sure that you keep Debug Mode active and next time someone signs up and you run into the same problem can you check the log file and submit the log entries. Make sure nothing person is revealed in the log file.
Another question, do you have a cache plugin installed in your site?
Regards

ParticipantI am having the same problem. I have found we can add members manually, but if they pay to join, it is not possible to complete registration (email link works but form just resets when submitting)

ParticipantI’m also having the same problem. It was working fine up until last week. I’ve tested the form with plugins deactivated – no luck. The form resets after clicking register; when it worked it redirected to the login page. I tried adding the redirect code to functions.php as it seemed to work for some people but no luck. I had a few of subscribers contact me to highlight the issue and I was able to get the reg link from settings/tools and complete their registration in Firefox – Safari and Chrome were reverting to the blank form. However today I was unable to complete the registration form in any browser.

Moderator@Darren.Brown and @MOD1 did you carry out the troubleshooting steps from the link I shared above?

ParticipantHi, I did carry out the troubleshooting steps but missed one of my plugins the first time. The name of the plugin is ‘SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle’. When I deactivated this the reg form worked. By deactivating this plugin however, the layout of some pages has been affected. Is my only option to re-do these pages or have you got any other suggestions? Thanks.

Moderator@mod1, I am happy to hear that you found the conflicting plugin. In your situation you might first make sure that you have cleared or deleted any cache if you are using a cache plugin. If you are not using a cache plugin then you will have to recreate those pages again. Simple Membership plugin does not alter or make changes to posts or pages layout.
Let me know if you need more help.
Kind regards

ParticipantI tried turning off all plugins except smp as you suggested, but we now have a long list of incomplete users, the email link works and directs them to the smp form to complete sign up, but when the submit button is pressed the page simply refreshes with a blank form. I can generate new links – same result. form can be filled in, but submit just refreshes the page and user remains incomplete.

KeymasterYou are not paying attention to the error properly. You are getting the following error:
Wordpress account exists with given email. But given username doesn't matchI will explain it a little more. WordPress doesn’t let you create multiple user accounts with the same email address or username. So when you use an email that ALREADY has a WP user account, you are going to get that error.
Go to your WP users menu and do a search using that email address. Delete that user account if you are not using it. Now you can use simple membership to create a NEW account using that same email address.
Alternatively, use a DIFFERENT email address that is not already in the system to create your user account.
