Simple Membership Plugin › Forums › Simple Membership Plugin › Register for an Account Before Payment ignoring my default "Pending" settings
Maybe someone here can help me solve this…
I need my new members to register for an account FIRST and then make a payment SECOND. I followed the directions in the documentation and everything works great. The problem is that when someone registers, their account is “pending” the way it’s supposed to be but the moment they make a payment – it automatically changes their account from “pending” to “active.” So basically, my default account setting within the admin that’s set to “Pending” is being completely overridden.
Any thoughts?
Hi,
it automatically changes their account from “pending” to “active.” So basically, my default account setting within the admin that’s set to “Pending” is being completely overridden.
Let me see if I understand you correctly. What you want is for the new members account to remain in pending status even after they pay for the membership level. Is this correct?
Regards.
Correct! I need it to act the same way as when I have it set for them to pay first and then fill out the registration form second – which keeps everyone in “pending” mode until I go in and manually approve them. But for whatever reason, when you invert the process and have them register first and THEN pay as it explains here: https://simple-membership-plugin.com/allowing-members-create-account-prior-completing-membership-payment/ …it overrides the default “pending” setting and makes everyone “active” automatically without my approval.
Actually, I contacted tech support and they explained why this is happening and apparently there’s no workaround. But thank you anyway!
