premium membership new member failed

Hello.
i have installed your plugin at taikabox.com
the free membership is working fine.
the paypal button sends a user to the right place. payment is received ok. paypal sends the IPN ok, but nothing is happening in the plugin. emails are not being sent out. the debug log says that the process has failed:

Thank you for reporting back. Can you try the following, delete the plugin and installed a fresh new copy. Carry out another transaction and report back.

Thankyou for your advice. i deleted the plugin and then reinstalled it.
i re-sent the IPN from PayPal and got the same failure in the log, with no email sent out and no new member created.
could you please advise my next steps in troubleshooting or resolving this issue.

Hi, what kind of PayPal button did you create? And what instructions did you follow to create your PayPal button?

the button that seems to be not working is a subscription button. i followed instructions in the documentation here (https://simple-membership-plugin.com/create-paypal-subscription-button-inside-the-simple-membership-plugin/) and here (https://simple-membership-plugin.com/enabling-paypal-ipn-feature-in-your-paypal-account/)

i added a custom image for the button with its custom URL from inside my WordPress media folder.

i’m having difficulty testing the system myself because i’ve run out of email addresses, but i don’t want members of the public to sign up if their payment isn’t going to work. the free membership button works fine.

An update: most users seem to be signing up ok. after using paypal to set up their subscription, they are added to the members list at the appropriate level. Unfortunately these users’ details are not being sent to the corresponding MailChimp list. Free members’ details, are, however, being sent to their MailChimp list.

Any ideas how to fix this?

Hi, I am sure you already have the MailChimp add-on?

Can you provide more details in regards to the different MaiLChimp lists you have? And how have you set up the list with your free and paid membership sign up forms.

Can you also enable Debug Mode and if possible carry out a transaction with a paid membership. Once that is completed can you then check the log file. Share the log file information here, making sure you don’t reveal any private and confidential data.

hello. yes, i’m using the MailChimp add-on.
In mailchimp i have three separate lists for the three membership levels.
i checked that the names are the same in mailchimp as they are in WPmembership.
the mailchimp API key is fine (free members are getting added)

Hi, the log file shows that everything is working fine. It is very strange the free membership works but not the paid membership.

Which method are you using to create the PayPal button for the paid membership?

The log file shows that MailChimp Integration is working fine with free membership, but there’s no reference to MailChimp in the log file for paid membership. I assume this is because the Integration isn’t working somehow.

I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the plugin and there is no change.

As I mentioned earlier in the thread, the buttons were made following the documentation. The buttons themselves are HTML elements with the shortcode ([swpm_payment_button id=941]) pasted in, styled with a custom JPG.

The mailchimp integration for paid membership takes place when the user completes the registration. So when a member completes the registration form, there is no mention of MailChimp in the log file?

Edit your paid membership level and make sure you have a mailchimp list name in there. If you don’t have any listname in there then the plugin won’t do any mailchimp signup.

Dear admin, if you read through the thread, you will see that i have pasted the log file into one of my replies, and also a screenshot of proof that i have mailchimp list names set up for each level of membership. the capitalisation of list names makes no difference – the paid membership still doesn’t integrate, whereas the free membership does.
