ParticipantWhen a new member purchases one of my plans. I get an email from paypal which gives me some information about the payment and provides the buyers email address. The problem I’m having is if the person doesn’t complete the registration process. I have no way of contacting the person except via email. Is there a way require the purchaser to give a mailing address?
(One member gave a bad email address so I can’t reach them at this point)

ModeratorHi, I think what would work best for you in this situation is the Form Builder addon.
The other option that you can carry out is sending the member another registration link. This feature is available under Tools tab.
Let me know if this helps you.
Regards

ParticipantI use the Form Builder add on. The customer gets the form once they receive the automated email after paying for the membership. The problem is when they don’t fill out the form. There is no way other than the email address I get to contact them. If the email address is bad, regenerating the link won’t work. The info is supplied to Paypal so it should carry over somehow.

ModeratorAre all the fields in your form required fields?

ParticipantYes. All fields are required.

ModeratorHi, what I don’t understand is the following comment.
The problem is when they don’t fill out the form.
Are you saying that sometimes they don’t complete the form or don’t fill out the form. If the form is not completed they can’t submit the form because all the fields are required.
If they don’t fill out the form then unfortunately there is not much you can do about that. The only way to control this is having a pop up window as a reminder while they are filling out the form.
Let me know if the above makes sense to you.
Regards

ParticipantWhen a buyer clicks the plan they want. They go right to PayPal to pay. After they pay, I get an email that I have a payment. On that notification is an email address. That is it. At some point after they get the form I created to fill out.
My button is configured as such: [swpm_payment_button id=1462 button_text=”General Membership = $35″]
Here’s the link:

ModeratorHi, are your members signing up to become members in your site?

ParticipantWhen they click the payment button they go right to PayPal. They pay and they get the automated registration form to fill out. Hence, the problem if they don’t get that email, they don’t register.

ModeratorThere is an option in the Form Buider addon that allows you to send different details to the subscriber. Have you tried this option yet?

ParticipantHave not. Not aware.
In my Registration form I have under the Confirmation section the Page option checked directed to Member Login page.
In my Profile form under Confirmation Section I have the Text option checked with the following
Profile Updated.
I don’t remember entering that though.
In both forms under the Notification sections, the send confirmation email to user is unchecked.

ModeratorHi, I am just curious about the following.
Why have you not enabled the following feature, just to see if it works better for you or not?
In both forms under the Notification sections, the send confirmation email to user is unchecked.

ParticipantNo particular reason. Through initial testing a year ago. I knew the enrolled received an email with his username and password that he picked when everything was done.

ModeratorHi, in regards to the following comment.
When they click the payment button they go right to PayPal. They pay and they get the automated registration form to fill out. Hence, the problem if they don’t get that email, they don’t register.
The only solution is carrying out what I suggested above. This was set up for the reason you explain here in your thread.
The other option that you can carry out is sending the member another registration link. This feature is available under Tools tab.

ParticipantBefore making any changes to the Forms. I created an email address and bought one of my plans. What I get after paying is a receipt from Paypal and an email from my site that says:
Dear
Your Account Has Been Upgraded.
Thank You
Something larger is wrong here and I haven’t done anything but apply updates as they come in. This explains why I’m getting so many incomplete registrations. I also checked the debug file and this transaction doesn’t even show up.
