    Hi

When I try to go to the membership profile page. membership-login/membership-profile i just get the site’s page loading image.

I tried creating a new page and using the [swpm_profile_form] shortcode and I get exactly the same issue. If I am not logged in I get the “you are not logged in” message.

I have turned off ALL other plugins on the site with no change.

I tried turning on the debug log and it is empty. (I reset the log and it has the log entry for the reset only)

This problem occurs on both the Live and (local) development sites.

There have been a number of updates to WordPress and other plugins recently which is why I tried turning them all off.

Any ideas what the problem is?

    Many Thanks
    Murray

    Hi

Thanks for the reply however, as I stated in my original post, I have already tried recreating the page and get exactly the same result.

If I am __not__ logged in as a Simple Membership user I get the not logged in text.

If I __am__ logged in I get a blank page and the site’s spinning “loading” graphic indefinately.

Is there a problem with WordPress 4.8 and the plugin?

Hi, no there is no problem between WordPress 4.8 and Simple Membership plugin. I have it running in WordPress 4.7.5, 4.8 and 4.9 alpha.

Make sure that the URL path is correct in the plugin settings when you create a new page. Another action that you can take is to disable all other plugins except this one and carry out a test. If that does not work then, disable and delete Simple Membership. Delete all the pages created by the plugin. Then install a fresh copy, this will make sure that the pages are set up correctly by the plugin.

Also do you have a cache plugin? Are you currently using the Form Builder addon?

    Regards

    Hi

I am not using Form Builder or any Cache plugin.

I have deleted the Simple Membership plugin and all associated pages. (the members remained as hoped)

I installed the addin and tried using the default URLs from the plugin settings page to access any of the generated pages, I got a 404 for all.

I then created login, password reset and edit profile pages as per the docs and logged in. I then tried to access the Edit Profile page I created and I get exactly the same result?

    Any Ideas?

    Thanks
    Murray

This looks like a conflict. Have you done the following test?
    https://simple-membership-plugin.com/forums/topic/test-for-plugin-and-theme-conflict-before-posting-an-issue-or-a-bug/

Also, make sure to edit the profile page then go to “Text” mode so you can see if there is any unwanted HTML code in there (copy and paste can do that sometimes). Remove everything except the edit profile shortcode from that page then save it.

It just occurred to me that the theme might be an issue.

The theme is Monte Vista Progression from Progression Studios and when I change to Twenty Seventeen, everything works.

I’ll chase them up on it. If you have any ideas or advice they would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Hi

Figured it out at last. It seems there were some very small customisations made to the Edit Profile, Login and loggedIn views.

This meant the changes in the last update weren’t copied into the edited views. I assume the removal of a javascript function at the foot of the older Edit view was the problem.

Anyway diffed the files, added the relevant changes and everything is working.

To find it I had to build a new site with the theme and plugin added then diff wp-content folders.

I imagine I will remember that little gotcha next time. 😉

    Thanks for your help
