ParticipantIs there a way to limit concurrent logins with the same user, or different devices? There are some wordpress plugins that seem to do this but I suspect they won’t work with plugin off the shelf.
I understand that the 2 factor authorization add-on is a good deterrent but not sure I want to put that burden on my users.
I do have a question about the 2FA as well.. does it allow for choosing a membership level to activate on?
I have free registered users and paid users. Enabling 2FA on the free users would be annoying for no reason so only the paid membership level would need it.

ModeratorHi,

Unfortunately, at present that is not possible with our plugin.

Have you tested any of these plugins?

ParticipantThanks for the quick answers. I did not test any concurrent login plugins. They would work with the logins of the regular wordpress access so I assumed that would not ‘connect’ with your since the membership is different list. I wanted to ask before I stated testing as I did not know the relationship between the wp-login list is and the Simple Membership list.

ModeratorHi,

Simple membership plugin works with WP Users. Each time a new member is added to your site they will also have a corresponding WP User account created. Which means that when they log into your sites members area, they will also get logged in as a WP user automatically.
So if they are logged in as a member and they post a comment, that comment is also posted as a WP User (because they are also logged into their WP user account).
Let me know if you need more information or help.
Kind regards

ParticipantAh thank you for that. I knew the wp-user was also created automatically but I didn’t know how interconnected they were. Wondering..if another plugin was able to block concurrent wp-users using a sessions cookie for example, do you think that would block concurrent SimMem users from seeing a restricted area as well?
In any case, I will test it out and see. Thanks

That is a possibility. Perhaps it would be a good idea to carry out the following troubleshooting steps.
Let me know how you go.
