ParticipantHi there,
I have a pretty urgent problem as I can’t make sales and I have unhappy dissatisfied customers.
I’d be grateful for some help to solve this
I have recently set up a membership subscription on my website: https://www.byron4kids.com.au/ using WP Membership.
This is integrated with PayPal.I know you can’t see my PayPal IPN History and this form does not allow me to attach a screenshot but basically the first few membership purchases went through without any trouble and now a whole bunch of them are backed up retrying. and have been now since Saturday (9 Sept).
This is not good as I now have upset clients who have paid membership and cannot get access as communication between the IPN and WP Membership is not happening which means it is not creating a member ID for them which in turn emails them out a registration link and they sign up. You see, if a member ID was at created, then at least I’d be able to send them a manual registration until this is resolved but I can’t even do that!
As I said, this has worked fine on the first bunch (4 or 5) but for the following 6+ it has stopped working and I don’t know why as I haven’t changed anything.
Time is of the essence as more and more people will try to sign up and become unhappy with my product. I spoke to a PayPal Support member who ran a test on the IPN and it is active and the handshakes to and from are verified so it’s looking like there is something that needs to be fixed on the plug-in side.
They suggested I try disabling Simple Membership Plug-in and then re-enabling that but I am worried I will lose the data/subscribers so far (not to mention the work I have done integrating it on my website – eg personalising the join-us page, working it in with the theme, settings etc.
Please get back to me and let me know your thoughts.
Thanks, MichelleSeptember 12, 2018 at 5:29 am #15446mbrsolution

You can disable and enable the plugin without loosing any data. However to keep you at peace, create a backup of your site just in case some weird issue occurs. Having a current backup should make you happy.
Can you also try the following troubleshooting steps.
Let me know if you need more information or help.
Kind regards

ParticipantHi there,
I’d just like to report that following the suggestion to disable and then re-enable the plug-in (after making a back-up – just in case) appears to have solved the problem and the memberships are now processing. However, I would like to add that we also disabled some of the website security too – in case that was causing the problem. We are going to wait now until we get more members, see if they process easily and then put the security back in full operation mode and see if that causes a problem or not. Thank you for your help & suggestions. I was at my wits end and I am feeling somewhat relieved today.
