ParticipantHello,
I have a problem with 2 members that confirmed the payment through Paypal, it’s the second month of the suscription but the status is expired. I manually changed the status to Active but it returns again to expired. I don’t see what can be wrong, the rests of members are ok with the same characteristics.
Can you send some help?
thank you so muchMay 25, 2024 at 12:10 am #28126The Assurer
ModeratorDo you have the SWPM debug logs turned on? If not, please turn them on. You want to see if the payment IPN went through; the next time this happens. In the absence of receiving the IPN, the membership will automatically expire.
Are only these 2 members affected, and nobody else?

ParticipantThank you. Yes, I have it turned on but I don’t know where and what to look.
This only affects these two members, yes. The are “expired” even when the payment is validated
Also I noticed that I can’t change manually any member status. It always go back to the previous. For example I have a member who cancel the membership deleting his own account but the member is still there and “active”, I tried to change to expired o cancelled but it returns again to “active” :/

If you look in the SWPM debug log, do you see any processing of IPN from the payment gateway, when the payment is made?

Are you using any kind of page caching plugins or server modules?

ParticipantI have this example of one of the users.
Here are the payments in SM. She registered on April 12, then the next correct and verified payment is may 17… the one on may 3 is the thing that the affected used have in common. I don’t know anything about that payment.

KeymasterHi, If you are manually trying to activate a member’s account, couple of things need to be done correctly. The following documentation will be helpful:
https://simple-membership-plugin.com/manually-activating-expired-members-account/
Next, regarding the following log:
Could not find an existing member record for the given subscriber ID …..
The following documentation page should be useful:
https://simple-membership-plugin.com/subscription-payment-troubleshooting-orphaned-subscription-management/Let me know if these are helpful.

ParticipantHi, thank you. Yes I could change it by editing the access date. 🙂
Another thing, Which would be the best way to offer a discount launching offer for members to the regular membership level? The normal price is 33$ month, so my client is planning to launch for 22$ during a year for members that registers during the first launching week. How can I do this properly?
Is there a way to set the access to this people with an expiration date so they need to “upgrade” to 33$ after X time, or is there a way to do this automatically?

KeymasterTo create two payment buttons within the Simple Membership Plugin at different price points, follow these steps:
#1) Create Payment Buttons:
You can create as many different payment buttons with different price points for your membership levels as needed.#2) Create a Discounted Membership Level:
Set up a separate membership level called “Regular-Discounted.” This level can have the same content access as the “Regular” membership level. Having a second level allows you to identify users who paid the discounted price and set different expiry conditions for this discounted membership level.#3) Configure Membership Level and Payment Buttons:
Once you have your membership levels and the corresponding payment buttons configured, place the discounted payment button on a protected page or a password-protected page. This way, you can control who has access to the discounted payment button. The following page has general info on setting up a password-protected page

ParticipantHi again,
I’m having the same problem over and over every month. Now another different 2 users changed to expired even when the payment was correct. I changed them manually to Active but it shouldn’t happen like that. I can’t manage users manually every month. Is there anything you can do to help me figure it out? The show not a visible error in the debug log as I sent you in the screenshot early in this ticket.
I don’t know what to do.

KeymasterHi, I’m sorry to hear about the issues you’re facing. This usually indicates a conflict or misconfiguration within the site, making it challenging to identify the exact cause without a detailed review of everything.
You may have specific requirements that our plugin doesn’t natively support, leading to potential cascading issues from a custom setup. While our plugin is versatile, it can’t accommodate every unique membership use case. Therefore, it might be more effective to switch to an alternative plugin that better suits your project’s needs.

ParticipantWell, I’m sorry to hear that :/
Do you have a paid support or something where you enter the site and check if it can be fix somehow?
