Thanks. Is Access Duration an additional plugin? Where do I get it?

Hi, that is not an add-on. This is part of the settings when you create a membership level.

Ah, got it. A follow up question – -is it possible to set a different membership expiration date for each member? Memberships will expire after a year, but the dates will vary as to when the membership was created. We’ll be importing existing members, all of whom have varying expiration dates.

Hi, are you going to be adding a renewal button? If you are the renewal button will take into account the remaining period left in the account.

As per the plugin changelog in version 3.3.8.

The account renewal payment will take into account any remaining time (when the user’s level is using a duration type expiry).

Hi — we are not planning on a renewal button. We plan to manually control memberships via the admin side. But we would like them to expire automatically on a specific date.

In that case you will have to create a membership level based on their remaining account period.

OK — just to confirm — there’s no way to set an actual expiration date for an individual member. Only a duration of time for a particular level?

Thanks for your help — I really appreciate it.

Yes that is correct. Only the duration period for the Membership Level can be adjusted.

It’s important to understand that the expiry is not something set in the user’s account. In our plugin, the concept of membership level is used to control the content permission and account expiry. This offers greater flexibility for a membership type setup. Read the following page to understand how our plugin works with membership level and the expiry is set in there:
    https://simple-membership-plugin.com/adding-membership-access-levels-site/

If you need to manually edit the expiry of a member’s account then you can edit a few parameter’s of the account to control this. The following page explains how to do this:
    https://simple-membership-plugin.com/manually-activating-expired-members-account/
