ParticipantHi, Our Excerpt will not display the page paragraph breaks when the user is logged out. Just one block of text (but will carry over an A href tag).
I have read more setting activated so we can display content before our restricted area on the page is activated.Have you seen this issue before?

ModeratorHi, can you share a screen capture of what you see so that I can check it myself.
Thank you

ParticipantHello, yes.
http://purefamilyfood.com/recipe/chicken-nuggets/This page uses a Recipe Plugin for WordPress, however the issue is the same on this test post page, which has 3 paragraphs in the HTML editor box.

You can see as soon as I `activate the READMORE Feature in the Membership plugin that it strips out the HTML paragraph formatting from the Excerpt. It will not strip out the ahref link.. just the paragraphs.
Thanks for any help.

ParticipantHi, thanks for the last post but still no luck.
Ive deactivated all plugins, and only left the Simple Membership Core plugin active (even deactivated custom messages and login after redirect).
Then I changed to default WordPress Sixteen theme and unfortunatly the issue is still there. What I have noticed is if I leave the Default WordPress Editor in TEXT mode, and put in manual HTML P tags, and save it will work.
If I switch the Editor to VISUAL view then by default it takes the paragraph tags out, but leaves the paragraph spacing in so it looks like paragraphs (eg: it kinda triggers its own paragraph breaks when outputting it on the page). Anyhow… in Visual mode it does not work with the membership plugin excerpt feature. Can you please test this again at your end to see this. as Im now just using your plugin and default theme and its still not working (latest wordpress).

ModeratorCan you share the HTML you are currently adding in your post or page? I will carry out a test on my end.
Thank you

ParticipantHi. Its just simple HTML Im using to test.
I think to make quicker progress you could tell me what files and how the read more function works in your plugin. because as mentioned the paragraphs display fine if the page is not restricted, and if it is (using the read more feature) the excerpt will not display correctly. It happens in default themes with no other plugins, so how does your plugin intercept the readmore tag and show the excerpt? You can see an example up at http://purefamilyfood.com/test/

ModeratorHi, I tested your simple HTML code and this is how WordPress works. This has nothing to do with this plugin. WordPress has a habit of stripping HTML tags especially <p>.
You have to install a plugin that will allow you to keep your HTML <p> tags and not remove them. There are two plugins I always recommend that are great at controlling this. They are TinyMCE Advance and WP Edit.
