ParticipantHi bizfundi,
I went to the WP Membership section of my WordPress dashboard, clicked on it and it opened the dashboard of WP Membership. I then clicked on the Email settings tab (the third one along) and in the ‘from’ email setting box, I entered the email that I want my emails to customers to show from – and saved it. I then did a test membership and it worked.
It was instant so I hope it works for you.

ParticipantHi mbrsolution,
Thank you for writing. No, my second issue is still unresolved. I read the troubleshooting page you suggested and installed the plugin Easy WP SMTP
I did what it said and put all my server details in, and this time, I got another few people I know to become members and test out the email response from me, and each time, my emails went straight through to their junk mail. I then uninstalled the plugin and installed the other plugin mentioned on the troubleshooting page, https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-mail-smtp/ but the writer’s instructions were a bit complex (to me) and because I was a bit unsure about what I was doing, I didn’t take it any further so I uninstalled it.
The writer mentioned things that could cause email going to junk mail, so I’m wondering if there would still be problems with some people’s servers sending email to junk folders no matter what we do?
So, I’m stuck really. I am a bit worried about doing something that messes up my emails. All I can do is hope that people will read the text on the registration page of my site asking them to check their junk mail folder, but thank you for your help.

ParticipantHi mbrsolution,
Thank you so much. I now have my emails being sent from ‘Mad About Wood’I tried the info for the second problem I had. My email address that is the ‘from’ email address does have my domain in.
I installed the plugin that the troubleshooting page suggests, Easy WP SMTP but I got all confused with the info needed as I set my email up with the webhosting company as a pop account (I think) (just shows my ignorance), so I deleted it again.
When I tried the following (from the troubleshooting page)
‘How to verify if the plugin sent the email or not
Step 1) Go to the settings menu of the Simple Membership plguin.
Step 2) Enable the debug option by checking the “Enable Debug” field. Then save the settings.
Step 3) Do a test membership signup and check the log file data.
If you see entries like the following then that means the plugin successfully sent the email:Member signup/upgrade completion email successfully sent to: john.xx@yahoo.com’
I just got a blank page so not sure if emails still go into customers’ junk folders or not but I unchecked the ‘debug’ option again. When I send test emails to me, I receive them in my inbox and not spam box so I hope all is well!
Thank you again for your help,
Pastella
